“Here is your winner, Gray Fullbuster! And the winner of the tournament, Fairy Tail!” Carmella announced and there was confetti and fireworks all around. The crowd had went unglued for Fairy Tail.
The score board was displayed with the final score.
1st - Fairy Tail - 121pts - Winner
2nd - Everlasting Fangs - 115pts
3rd - Black Bulls - 68pts
4th - Golden Dawn - 55pts
5th - Mermaid Heel - 52pts
6th - Lamia Scale - 50pts
7th - Crimson Lions - 45pts
8th - Coral Peacock - 43pts
“Gray... You did it.” Gems shed a tear as he hugged Gray from behind, tightening the hug in the process.
Gray was savouring in the moment as the crowd was applauding for them.
“I did it for you.” Gray said as he looked at Gems and smiled. “Everything I do is for you, thank you for helping me.” Gray added and Gems just shook his head no.
“No...” Gems cried and sniffled, letting the tears fall on Gray's shoulder.
“I was able to win because of you, this victory is for you. Its all because of you. I wouldn't have done it without you. If you didn't lend me your powers, I would've lost.” Gray said as he turned his head around and looked at Gems.
Gray put his hand on Gems's hand and smiled.
“Thank you, Gemsie.” Gray added.
Gray and Gems just stayed there like that, in the middle of the battlefield, soaking in the moment and knowing what they did was right.
Everyone in Fairy Tail made their way towards the battlefield. Gems heard the commotion and turned to the side, to see that all the guild members were running towards them.
Gems loosened his grip around Gray and let go of him. Gray was surprised as Gems suddenly let him go, until he noticed that everyone was coming towards them. Gray was happy, but the distance between him and Gems was something he didn't like. His smile faded when he saw Gems getting up with a teary face and took step backs away from him when his guild mates arrived.
Gems just stood in distance and wiped his tears away, trying his best to smile and clap for Gray and his victory. Gray noticed all of that.
Not only Fairy Tail, but every other guild arrived in the battle field as well, except for Everlasting Fangs.
“Gray! You did it!” Natsu came running towards him.
“The prize is coming home!” Happy cheered.
“One more tournament victory for Fairy Tail!” Lucy and Laki cheered.
“That was one tough battle man! You did great!” Elfman said as he helped Gray get up from the ground.
“I am so proud of you my child.” Makarov spoke woth happiness. “You did great.” He added.
“Even though my guild didn't win, I'm happy for you man.” Lyon added as he celebrated with Fairy Tail. Gray just smiled as he heard everyone congratule him, but from deep within he wanted everyone to thank Gems, not him.
“The way you escaped that trap, was impeccable. You fought brilliantly.” Erza said but Gray just shook his head no. Everyone was talking to him and congratulating with, while Gems just stood there alone, applauding him.
Gray's heart hurt seeing Gems like that.
“Gray? Let me heal your wounds.” Wendy said as she approached Gray. But Gray shook his head no.
