One of the many one shots I've written on my break. This is just a little something to distract me from stressing about coming up with an idea for Monty. Unfortunately, this is one of the shorter ones. Hopefully I'll get motivation to write the longer ones soon.

"I don't know if anyone's crazy enough to take the boat ride here in this weather, Gent," you said, your eyes locked on the pouring summer rain.
"I don't know, wondertart. There's always at least one," he replied as he wiped down the display case then smiled. "There's a reason why I'm considered the greatest chef in all the lands."
You smiled. "True, true. What should we do to pass the time?"
"Have you gone on your break yet?" he asked.
"No," you said. "I know you haven't."
"Care to have lunch with me?" he offered.
You nodded. "Of course."
"I'll make you something fresh. What would you like?" he said. "I know the usual (lunch food) you bring never cuts it."
"I'm craving (entree) for some reason," you said. You sat at a table by the display case.
"Anything for dessert?" he suggested.
"(Dessert choice)," you replied.
"Coming right up, my dear," he smiled then retreated to the kitchen. "Just (entree)? No sides?"
"Just (entree), hon," you replied. "(Personal entree preference), please."
"You got it," he chirped.
After about ten minutes, the salt shaker came out into the dining area with two trays. One held your (entree) and (dessert) and the other held the same thing with fries. He sat across from you with a smile and set your tray in front of you.
"Ooh, this looks good," you smiled happily.
"Dig in, wondertart," he said.
You took a bite of your (entree). The flavor exploded on your taste buds. "Oh, my lord."
Saltbaker chuckled softly while eating a bite of his own food. Once you both swallowed, you leaned over the table and kissed him. He kissed back happily. You pulled back soon after.
"My compliments to the chef," you winked.
He grabbed the back of your hand and kissed it. "Glad to receive a good review."
"If nobody comes in the next couple of hours, should we close up shop for today?" you asked.
"Yes, give it some time and if we're still this slow, we'll close and snuggle in bed for the rest of the day," he said.
You smiled. "I like the sound of that."
He gave you a wink. "I thought you would."

I'm hoping I can get some joy out of writing the longer ones because my motivation to write the longer ones is through the floor and straight to Hell. I swear to God, if I make myself leave again.
As always, embrace your weirdness and I'll see you in the next one shot.
