This is an obligation due to spooky month.

Today was the day of decorating the house for Halloween. It was the last week of September and the weather was already getting cooler. You were in the attic, looking through everything for the Halloween decorations. You pulled out two long storage totes and brought them downstairs.

"Okay," you said to yourself then pulled the lids off to reveal the Halloween decorations. "I really need to stop winging this every year."

You pulled out strands of orange, green, and purple skeleton shaped lights and began hanging them across the ceiling after getting a step stool.

"Need help?" you heard.

You looked around to see Beetlejuice in the TV screen. "Hey, Bee."

"Whatcha doin'?" he asked.

"Decorating for Halloween," you said. "I just got started."

"Ooh, can I help?" he excitedly asked.

"I don't know, Bee. I know you'll have some trick up your sleeve," you said.

"Not with you," he said. "I can help you get it done faster."

"No live bugs or whatever. Nothing live," you commanded. "Deal?"

"Deal," he said. "Come on, babes. Say it."

"Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," you chanted.

Beetlejuice left your TV and appeared next to the totes. He looked at what you were working with. "Should I get the clones?"

"Nah, it's not that many decorations. It's just a matter of where to put everything since I wing decorating every year," you said.

He began floating next to you and holding the lights as you hung them. He kissed your cheek. "I have some ideas." He snapped his fingers, to which all the furnature, flooring, and curtains became black and white striped.

"No, we're not doing this, Bee. The whole house isn't gonna be black and white striped," you scolded.

"Oh, come on. It's perfect for Halloween," he reasoned.

"Some things can be patterned. Not the whole house. Please?" you said.

"All right, fine," he compromised. He snapped his fingers and the pattern was removed. "What can I do?"

"Curtains and textiles. Like towels and stuff," you said.

"I can live with that," he said. Another snap and the pattern was back on every set of curtains and towels in the kitchen. You assumed the bathroom was affected as well.

The house was decorated a couple of hours later. You and Beetlejuice stood in the living room, admiring your work.

"Nice work, babes," he smiled. "Looks real good."

"You too, Bee. Thanks for the help," you kissed his cheek.

"The house looks much better with stripes," he commented.

"The pattern's gonna be gone come November," you said. You walked into the kitchen with the ghost following.

"Mid-Novemeber and I won't unleash a sandworm on you," he compromised.

"Would you really do that to me?" you asked.

"Nah, I'm fucking with you. But, still. Mid-November," he said.

"I'll keep them up until Thanksgiving," you decided.

"Keep them up for Thanksgiving," he suggested. "Your family's reactions are gonna be priceless."

"We're having Thanksgiving at my grandparents' this year," you told him. "I'll have you switch everything back on Black Friday."

He kissed your cheek. "I'll take it. Close enough to December."
