"Hey, are you sure you're good?" You looked at Conan. He was a bit pale beneath the medical mask.

"Dr. Agasa gave me some cold medicine." He coughed.

"Maybe you should have stayed home."

"I should be saying that to you." He coughed.

"The doctor said I'm fine as long as I use the crutches for now." You shrugged.

"Aw, he'll be all right!" Heiji boomed from the front seat.

"Are ya sure this is okay?" Kazuha asked. "The guy who wrote to ya said he wanted to see Kudo. Ain't he gonna be upset when he doesn't show?"

"He asked for Shinichi?"

"Yup." Kazuha nodded. "He said he'd made a mistake solvin' a murder case last year an' he wanted ta go over it."

"Well, I aim ta reopen the case an' solve it from scratch without makin' mistakes." Heiji smirked. "But I texted Kudo. Who knows? He might show up. So that fathead can screw up a second time." Heiji snickered.

Conan glowered at Heiji.

"Hey, we're here!" Heiji called.

"It seems so peaceful. I bet the air's fresh!" Kazuha beamed.

Kogoro parked the car, and everyone piled out. They headed straight into City Hall, but Conan hesitated at the doorway.

"Oi, Judo, you good?"

He was looking at the letter that led them out here. It was from some Okra kid that was personally involved in the original case. "The letter say's where to meet." Conan rasped.

"Alright. Let's go find him then." You nodded.

"No." He shook his head.

You scowled. "Why not?"

"I'm going up into the mountains. It'll be hard for you with your leg." He stated. "And I want you to investigate with Hattori. See if I really did miss something." He panted. "I know you won't leave any stone unturned."

You frowned but nodded. "Alright. Just be careful. I don't like the vibes of this place."

He nodded, before hurrying off.

You watched him until he was no longer in view. This damn leg. You silently cursed, as you hobbled towards a bench just outside the door. You lowered yourself onto the seat and waited. After a few minutes, the others left the building.

"That detective brat must've really screwed things up!" Kogoro grumbled.

Ran smiled softly when she saw you, before her eyebrows furrowed. "Hey, where's Conan?"

"He said he wasn't feeling well, so he said he was going to the inn." You replied.

"Then I'll go back too. I don't want to leave him unsupervised." Ran said to the others. "Rin, why don't you come too?"

"Okay."

It didn't take long for your lie to get exposed. Ran frantically searched, asking each person you came across if they'd seen him.

"Oh, I saw a little boy with glasses go into the woods." An older gentleman pointed towards the dense forest.

"Th-thank you." Ran dipped her head, before picking you up, and hurrying to find the others.
