"What's wrong now?" You groaned.

"You didn't say we were going on a stakeout." He grumbled.

"You're the one that said you wanted me to include you." You huffed. "Now here I am, including you, and you're complaining about it."

"Yeah, but you could have told me beforehand." He pouted.

"I asked if you wanted to go out, and you said yes." You shrugged. Your eyes widened, finally catching on. A crooked smirk spread across your face. "Did you think I was asking you on a date?"

He turned away from you, but you could still see his cherry red ears.

"You did!" You grinned, always eager for the opportunity to tease him. You poked his flushed ear. "Kid could be in danger, and here you are wanting to go on a date." You made a show of shaking your head. "Tsk tsk, how shameful."

He swatted your hand away. "Cut it out." He scowled, but with the bright red blush on his face it was more enduring than intimidating.

You put your hands up in surrender. "Alright, I'll let it go." Your eyes darted past him, and your smile faded. "Seems like our target's on the move."

Conan followed your gaze to the restaurant the two of you had been watching. A woman with short frost-tipped hair strode out of the building. She walked with a confident, almost arrogant, swagger. You glanced at Conan.

"I'll follow your lead." He stated, all signs of his previous flustered expression gone.

You nodded, before silently stalking after the woman. Over the years you'd learned that arrogant people took longer to notice a tail. As such, it wasn't hard to follow her. She probably didn't have much experience being hunted. You followed after her, making sure to keep an adequate distance. Conan stayed right on your heels, watching your surroundings with a scrutinizing gaze.

Eventually, the woman entered an apartment building, and vanished inside.

You pulled out your phone and quickly dialed the number. "Hey. I tailed her to an apartment building. See if you can find anything."

"I'm on it. Give me a bit." Ricky replied, before hanging up.

"I'm assuming we're looking for her weapons stash, like you did with the first one." Conan noted. "But how can you be so sure she'll lead us there?"

"Tomorrow's Sunday." You shrugged. "Any mercenary worth their salt will inspect their gear in advance. I do the same before a heist."

Conan's eyebrows furrowed. "And you're confident in this plan."

You met his gaze. "If I wasn't confident in this plan, there is no world where I'd let you come with me tomorrow."

You could see the gears turning in his mind. Finally he let out a heavy sigh. "Alright. I trust you." He relented.

After half an hour of waiting outside, the mercenary woman exited the building. It took another half hour before your phone began to buzz. You quickly answered it.

"Hello?"

"Heya. I think I found her." Ricky stated. "There's a room that was rented out under the name Aimi Arai. However, when I looked into their information it led me back to a 93 year old woman living in a nursing home."

"Guess we can add identity theft to her laundry list of crimes." You muttered. "Which room?"

"407. I already checked all the signals coming from the building. There are a couple baby monitors and the like, but no signals emanating from that room."
