I hope you guys are alright with the upload schedule so far. I'm trying to be very conscious of my health, so I don't leave you guys hanging again.

Anyways, on with the story!

---------------------------------

You studied the new scar that ran down your leg. It was as wide as your thumb and as long as your hand. You frowned.

"Is your leg hurting?" Ran asked worriedly.

"The doctor said it might be tender for a while." Conan stated, though he watched you carefully.

"No, I'm okay. I just didn't realize how big the scar was gonna be." You mumbled. "So much for wearing shorts."

"You're lucky it ended with a scar. Had the break been any worse you could've lost your leg." Kogoro noted.

"Dad!" Ran chastised.

"What?"

Ran started to lecture her father. You stared down at the thin scar on either side of your hand. "He's right, I should be grateful I only have some new scars this time." You muttered in a low voice.

Conan looked at you, his face contorted with sadness.

"Ah, I just read about some rich lady who bought a lottery ticket on a whim and won 100 million yen (~$1mil), but she's planning to give the winning ticket away." Ran recalled, drawing your attention back to their conversation.

"What?" Kogoro gaped.

"She was in an accident back when she was a little girl. A boy was injured rescuing her, and she's asking him to come forward so she can reward him with the ticket." Ran continued.

"Has the lucky boy shown up yet?" You asked.

"I don't know. She was blinded by the accident, and the boy was just a kid, so she can't identify his face or voice."

"Then how's she supposed to know if it's the boy she's looking for?" Kogoro grumbled.

"She said he had a serious injury, and the scar should still be on his body." Ran explained.

"Say, I got a scar on my shoulder a couple of years ago from sliding into home at a baseball game. Maybe I can bluff my way into a fortune..."

"Not a chance!" Ran snapped.

"It wasn't the shoulder." A woman stepped through the open door, a man right behind her. She wore a pair of tinted glasses and held a long white cane. "I clearly remember his t-shirt being slit across the middle and blood from the wound seeping through." She stated calmly. "My eyesight deteriorated after that. Now I'm almost entirely blind, but I'll never forget that sight."

"It's her!" Ran gasped.

"In that case I assume you want the great detective Mouri Kogoro to find your mystery boy." Kogoro boasted.

"Not quite, we've already found two candidates." The man with her started. His hair was perfectly slicked, and he wore a fitted suit.

Kogoro directed them to sit, while Ran went to make some tea.

"I see." Kogoro muttered. "So, you want me to figure out which of these two is the real deal?"

"Yes, after all only one of them can be the boy who saved me." The woman, Kurumi Shodo, nodded.

"Did you see their scars?" You asked.

Though blind, Kurumi turned to face you. "My butler did. Right, Hoya?"
