"Seth, don't do anything stupid, he's not worth losing your job over." I clenched onto his fist with all the strength I could muster, halting his footsteps.
"I need to do this, show him who's boss." I shook my head, fighting his arm back down to his side.
"No you don't, you're jealous right now, but once that subsides you'll be alright." He took a deep breath, inhaling loudly, taking a couple of steps back.
"That's it," I encouraged, moving back with him. "Don't let him be the bigger person, just because he got this one, opportunities will come your way too."
"You're right," he whispered, wrapping his arms around my waist once we were out of the way of the others. "I just thought that was my shot."
"I know you did." I ran my hand along his back the best I could trying to soothe him, feeling his grip around me tighten. "It just means you've got to work harder next time."
"I don't think I can do this again Y/N," he honestly told me.
"Of course you can, you were born to do this, this is you." He nodded his head which was nuzzled into my neck.
"Don't let go just yet," he whispered.
"I wasn't planning to."
