Bursting out of an air vent, Norman scrambled out and bounded over to the shed in the corner of the roof. Entering inside, the guinea pig was surprised to see his friend wide awake. Smiling cheerfully, he came closer and piped up, "Today seems like the perfect day to fly around the city!"
"Norman, I just want to be left alone today," Tiberius whispered quietly, his voice barely audible. Shocked, Norman looked the old hawk in the eye, only to find sadness glistening inside them. Lifting his head slightly, Tiberius muttered, "Leave, now." Then the hawk turned away, avoiding eye contact with the guinea pig. Sighing, Norman backed out slowly. "I'll see you later, I guess..." he mumbled over his shoulder before exiting.
The last thing Norman heard was the distant sound of Tiberius whimpering softly.
