Walking along the sidewalk, Mel peered over his shoulder at Buddy, who was following behind next to Sonya. The female pug reluctantly agreed to help the trio on their quest. When he saw the pair, Sweetpea rolled his eyes. "Coming Buddy?" Mel called out. Caught off guard, Buddy replied, "Yeah, we'll be along! You go on ahead!" Smiling nervously, Mel did just that, Sweetpea trying to stay on his head.
Watching his friends go, Buddy turned to look at Sonya. He wasn't sure why but there was something about the way her brown eyes glistened in the late sunlight that caused the dachshund's heart beat faster. Just then, Sonya noticed that Buddy was staring at her and growled, "You mind?!"
"Sorry!" Buddy exclaimed, moving off to the side to give Sonya some space, only to accidentally walk into a mailbox. "Idiot," Sonya grumbled, trotting along. Staggering about, Buddy sighed as she walked away.
