The Note

Before Max even opened the door, Duke could sense that something was wrong. "I've got a bad feeling..." Snowball murmured, voicing Duke's fears. Gulping, Max took a hold of the doorknob and turned it. Taking a deep breath, he slowly opened the front door. The group was greeted by a terrible scene.

Gidget's apartment was trashed. Glass shards blanketed the floor. Furniture was either broken or turned over. The table was split in two. A webbing of cracks was spread out on the television screen. Stuffing from the couch and pillows littered everything. And there was no sign of Gidget or Sky.

"Uh, guys..." Chloe started to say something. But the tabby cat refused to finish her sentence as she handed Snowball a piece of paper. "A note?" Duke asked. Still quiet, Chloe nodded her head solemnly. "What's it say Snowball?" Max questioned the rabbit, his legs shaking. Worry was carved into Snowball's face as he cited, "Unless you surrender now, your girlfriends will meet the same grisly end as your friend..." Peering over his shoulder, Pops grumbled, "Idiot. Whoever wrote this can't spell! Every word is spelled wrong!" Chloe and Lily shared a long look.

"Wait, who's the friend?" Duke asked, taking the note from Snowball, adding, "It says that a friend of ours met their end." However, no one knew the answer to that question. Sighing, Ozone went around behind the couch and gasped. "What?!" Snowball exclaimed, concerned. Turning his head around slowly, Ozone whispered hoarsely, "I found the friend..."
