"Get out of my way!" Jet's voice could be heard around the corner. Sharing a concerned look with each other, Buddy and Sonya quickly followed the skinny black cat. They found him glowering at a small group of animals, which included two dogs, a fat tabby, and a parakeet. Recognizing his friends, Buddy bounded over to greet them while Sonya handled a frustrated Jet.
"Buddy, you're alive!" Mel exclaimed, his curly tail wagging. Sweetpea hovered above his head and chirped cheerfully. Chloe's jaw dropped at the sight of the dachshund, which Max quickly shut her mouth for her. "It's good to see you man," the small dog pointed out, smiling. Buddy smiled warmly in return.
"Well, it was nice knowing you," Jet grumbled, stomping off. Turning to leave, Sonya called over her shoulder, "Feel free to visit anytime Buddy." Watching the female pug walk away, Buddy replied, "Okay, thank you!" Sighing, he faced his friends. "Can we PLEASE go home now?!" Chloe demanded. Without another word, she headed in the direction towards the apartment building. The others followed her, Buddy more hesitant than his companions.
