Chloe was laying next to Lily when the two cats heard screaming. In fact, everyone heard screaming as Mel and Sweetpea raced out of a room, soon followed by Buddy and flames. "It wasn't us!" Mel shouted as he passed Chloe. The Flushed Pets quickly jumped into action to stop the fire. "SNOWBALL!" Max barked, glaring at the white rabbit. Ignoring the small dog, Snowball cried, "Get the fire!"

Just then, more screaming could be heard. Whirling around, Chloe gaped in awe as another fire burst into life, lighting the wooden planks near the underground river ablaze. "This is not good..." Chloe murmured. Tail puffing, Lily screeched, "Let's get out of here!"

"Good idea! Everyone, follow Tattoo!" Snowball cried, overhearing Lily's screech. A moment later, Tattoo began herding animals of all kinds towards the exit. "Rhonda!" Pops called out from amongst the crowd. Chloe watched as Leonard and Peanut dragged him away. She wanted to run but her legs wouldn't move.

All of the sudden, Gidget howled, "Look out!" Glancing up, Chloe jumped out of the way just in time as burning planks of wood crashed where she stood moments before. Unfortunately, Chloe could hear a howl of pain, indicating someone else suffered. The tabby hadn't the slightest clue of who it was when teeth grasped her scruff. Gidget and Mel dragged Chloe away towards the exit, Sweetpea hovering nearby.

"Retreat!" Snowball cried, realizing that there was no way to stop the flames. He quickly followed the others, the remaining Flushed Pets on his tail. In the distance, Chloe could make out other animals who hadn't escaped yet, as well as more fires. By now, the entire wooden ceiling was ablaze and collapsing. High above her head, Chloe heard a low groan while Max howled, "It's coming down!"

The next second, a huge part of the ceiling collapsed just as the small group reached the exit, blocking the path to freedom for so many others.
