"Come on guys! I feel like we're getting close!" Mel yipped as he trotted out front. Buddy dragged his feet behind the pug, Sweetpea laying on his head. "Can't we go home?! Sweetpea and I are exhausted!" the dachshund complained, "I'm not walking another step!" To prove his point, Buddy sat down where he once stood.

"Do you guys always whine like puppies?!" a female voice retorted. A moment later, Sonya hopped out of a nearby dumpster. Instantly, Buddy's heartbeat picked up pace and his mouth went dry. Noticing a strange expression on Buddy's face, Sweetpea shook his head in disbelief.

Taking a step forward, Mel was about to speak when Sonya barked, "Go home and stay there!" Without another word, the female pug lunged forward, teeth bared. "Let's get out of here!" Mel screamed, grabbing Buddy's collar and dragging him along. Sweetpea chirped with alarm as he hovered over their heads. Meanwhile, the sun was slowly sinking below the horizon.
