Clambering up on the windowsill, Buddy gazed at the morning sun. It had now been six weeks since the whole incident at the party. Fortunately, Duke was making a swift recovery and the pit bull hadn't been seen anywhere near Pops' apartment. Taking a deep breath, the dachshund went off to see his best friend next door.

Upon entering Mel's apartment, Buddy saw the pug laying on his back on the floor. His eyes stared at the ceiling above. Sweetpea shrugged his shoulders from where he stood on a nearby table. Just then, Mel rolled over and looked at Buddy. Worry was written on his face.

"Buddy, I've been thinking," Mel murmured. Buddy and Sweetpea quickly shared a concerned look. Sighing, the pug continued, "I want to find my family." The dachshund tilted his head slightly, confused by what his friend was talking about. Scuffing his paw on the floor, Mel explained, "Ever since Gidget's parents came over, I've been wondering about my family. I never knew them when I was little. But now, I want to find them!" Again, Buddy and Sweetpea shared a concerned look. Both knew that, when the pug had his mind set on something important to him, he never gave up.
