Plot:

I feel like I didn't read enough to actually know the plot but I'm going to stab it anyways.

Actually, no I'm not. I don't like, and I don't care about the plot, because I don't care about the characters, because the writing doesn't make me want to care.

Grammar:

Yeah, it's grammar and it exists. Idk I've read worse and I've read better. I don't have much of an opinion on it.

Descriptions:

I feel like I've read this kind of description too many times and yours is lower on the list of writers description that I like. What I'm saying is that it is long and never ending and descriptive but in a way that is generic and what I've read plenty of times before. I of course compare it to my queen of descriptions (I'm not going to at her because that's weird) and they fall pretty flat in comparison, at least in my mind.

I also know that they are the kind of descriptions that wrap people up and make them think that they are beautiful and perfect. But I don't care about those people, because it just falls flat for me. Granted, there are times where it does catch my eye but that is VERY fleeting.

I want to add that you are trying to hard, or at least that what it seems like. A good descriptive description should read like it is effortless, like you breathed and the words hit the page in the most perfect of ways. Not like you strained your back muscles trying to shit out something beautiful and that is how this reads.

Characters:

All I have to say is basic.

The main character comes off as one that exists in so many other books, with the same intense angst issues that drive me up a wall. I want unique characters, or ones that feel like they have a voice, or if they do, at least one that feels like might actually be a real person. I just feel such a great disconnect between the writing and the character that really doesn't sell it for me.

And before you even think of saying that "you didn't read enough to care about them or they change later on" first off, if I do no love a character or have some feeling other than indifference to them by the end of the first chapter then I ALWAYS put the book down. I don't care what it is about or if the plot is good, without characters a book is nothing, and a good plot is suddenly nothing as well. Characters make the world go round' and to have ones that people can at least be like hey "I have an opinion on them" means that you did something right. But there is nothing to the characters in this book, it's just so far away and like strangers that live on the other side of the planet.

It's just not good. At all.

What I Hated/Thoughts:

"Flashes"

For me that isn't the best way to start out a prologue. It doesn't leave me hooked in the way of, ooh I wonder what the fuck is flashing, my feeling is more like coooool sooooo intersting (with plenty of sarcasm). In my mind it's vague and an uninteresting thing to say, especially for the start of a prologue which I'm already somewhat biased against in the first place. It honestly feels like the start of a description for a movie or a play/musical.
