To our wonderful readers
We are happy that you're all so engaged in our story but there's something that needs to be said.
We understand that the way T has been treating Leah, at this point of the story, can come across as mean and ignorant and whatever. We understand that it doesn't seem good, it wasn't good, but T is NOT a bad person. What happened here will be explained later on, there's more going on than what meets the eye. Let's please remember what a wonderful person she truly is.For those who want T's POV, we can't give that now because this whole situation was too hard for T. It'll be explained soon why that was.
Thank you,
Leah and T________________________
Leah's POV
The next day, I had breakfast on my own. I didn't care to wait for T, somehow I was angry with her. I didn't want to be, but I couldn't help myself. She was spending way too much time with Heather, they were getting way too close and, no matter what I said or did, it wouldn't change.
Then I remembered Kat... I remembered how T tried to get through to me. How did I realize she was right? My eyes widened as I remembered Kat kissing me, that's how I realized it. I didn't want T and Heather to kiss, no way! I had to find another way.
I took my phone and called Charlotte, she was the one I was closest to, besides T of course. "Hey, Charlotte."
"Good morning, Leah. Is everything alright?"
I sighed. "Things could be better..."
"Yeah," She sighed too. "I figured."
I raised my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"Well..." She trailed off, I wondered if she even saw how close T and Heather had gotten...
I let out a deep sigh. "T and Heather.", was all I said and, judging by the sigh she let out, I knew she did see a change too.
"I'm sorry, Leah..."
"Don't be," I gulped, I was so upset. Knowing that other people could see the same thing as me... It meant I wasn't solely a jealous wife, I had every reason to be worried. "I don't know what to do..." I sniffled, I couldn't help myself.
"Oh, Leah..." She sighed. "Shall I come by?"
I nodded, even though she couldn't see it. "Please."
"I'm on my way."
"Thanks." I then hung up. I got up and got a tissue, to wipe my nose. I then sat down, continuing breakfast.
When I was done, T finally arrived downstairs. She noticed I was already clearing the table. "You didn't wait for me?" She sounded rather shocked.
Keep calm, I thought. I turned to her, to face her. "I woke up early and decided to get going. That way I can get some studying done and we have more time this evening, together." I showed her a small smile.
She nodded slowly. "I guess."
"What are your plans for today?" I asked as I went to sit down at the table, seeing her get things for breakfast.
She went to sit down, to have breakfast. "I don't know... I guess I could plan my classes for the week."
I nodded.
She shrugged before eating breakfast.
Then there was a silence. The growing distance between us seemed to increase daily. How do I get closer? I don't know. It seemed that whenever I try to get closer, she pushed me away.
I decided to let it be for now. Perhaps I shouldn't try too hard, forcing things usually does the opposite of what you'd want. So I went back to my books and studied.
About 25 minutes later, the doorbell rang. I immediately got up, as I knew who this was, and headed to the front door.
"Are we expecting visitors?" T asked as she followed me to the front door.
"Well, let's see who it is," I opened the front door and smiled when I saw Charlotte. "Hey." I leaned in and hugged her. A hug, she and I both knew I needed desperately.
"Hey Leah," She then looked at T. "Hey Talia."
"Hey Charlotte," T seemed confused. "Did we have plans today?"
Charlotte glanced at me before looking at T. "No," She smiled a bit, trying to keep things normal. "But I wondered how you two were doing."
"Oh," T seemed taken back a bit. "Well, we just had breakfast."
Charlotte nodded before looking at me again, and I knew what she was hinting at. "T," I sighed. "Both Charlotte and I have noticed a change."
T frowned a bit. "A change?"
"Yes," Charlotte continued. "I'm all for close friendships but there's a limit to friendships, Talia," She showed her a face. "You and Heather..."
T sighed. "We're just friends."
"T," I stepped in. "You know I support your friendships. I don't want you to give up anything for me, you know that, right?"
She slowly nodded.
"But the way you and Heather interact lately..." I gulped. "I'm worried."
"Why?"
I looked down. "Friends don't talk the way you two do. Friends don't giggle and laugh as you two do," I gulped yet again. "You have that look in your eyes for her which you used to have for me."
T seemed stunned, lost for words maybe.
"I see it too, Mary does too," Charlotte helped me support my claims even more. "Something has changed," She looked at T. "If you and Heather want to get together, you should be honest to Leah about it."
T looked from her to me, then she looked down.
Charlotte looked at me then, it was clear we were both not sure what to make of T's behavior. Was she admitting to what we were saying? Or was she doubting what to say? Whatever it was, it was killing me. This waiting was killing me.
"I don't know what to feel," She finally said, though worrying me even more. This wasn't at all what I had hoped to hear. "I love you a lot, Leah, you know that," She said but I didn't nod, somehow I started even doubting that. "But with Heather..." She sighed. "I don't know..."
Charlotte nodded before looking at me. "Shall we go for a walk?"
Without thinking about it, I nodded. I went to grab my jacket and exited the house without even looking back at T. Though I could feel she was looking at me.
"You better stay here so you can talk to your wife when we get back." I heard Charlotte say before closing the door behind her.
From there, we just walked around the neighborhood. Nothing was really said but I didn't mind, I liked this support I was getting from Charlotte. She was amazing, an amazing friend. I was glad I met her, in this way, as friends.
"I don't know what to do with all of this..." I sighed. "What if I lose her?" I then looked at Charlotte. "I don't want to lose her."
She looked apologetic at me. "I know," She sighed. "Love can be so beautiful but oh so sad at the same time..." She then looked in front of her. "I truly believe Talia when she says she doesn't know what she's feeling for Heather," She then looked at me. "Perhaps you two should get away for a bit, to rekindle your love?"
I slowly nodded.
"Do you have an idea?"
I shook my head at first before an idea came to mind. "Paris."
