I apologize for the long delay. It has been a very busy few weeks... Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy this chapter :)

Leah's POV

"Hey," I smiled at Heather and Eva as I welcomed them into the house. I then spotted Hannah. "Hi there."

She looked at me, her eyes big and full of wonder. I often wondered what babies would think about. The world must be so crazy to them.

"Is Talia here too?" Heather immediately asked. I could sense just how worried she was about this.

I looked at Eva, and I could see she shared that same feeling, though she was trying to keep it together.

"She's here," I said, deciding to act like everything was alright. "She's upstairs but she'll be right here," I motioned them to follow me. We walked to the living room. "Boys, look who's here."

The boys got up and rushed to Heather, who was holding Hannah. They were jumping up and down, trying to catch a glimpse of the baby.

"Emil, Jin," I said, my tone a bit sharp.

"It's alright," Heather smiled at them. "You two are probably curious to meet her."

They both nodded.

Heather and Eva went to sit down, next to each other. Heather then held Hannah in a way that the boys could see her better. "This is our daughter," She looked at the boys. "Hannah."

The boys stepped closer. Emil was more enthusiastic and didn't seem to hesitate as much as Jin. Emil really got close to Hannah, almost holding her at some point. While Jin was close as well, but kept some space.

Eva looked from them to me. She motioned me to follow her, so we both got up.

This didn't go unnoticed by Heather. "Where are you two going?"

"Drinks," I said, a bit too quickly. "We're getting drinks."

She nodded and went back to Hannah and the boys.

Eva motioned me to follow her. We walked to the kitchen. Once there, she let out a breath. "Is Talia really ready for this?"

It baffled me that even Eva was worried. Normally, she was the one that held it all together. "Yeah," I said, but then thought some more about it. "I think..." I had to admit that I too was worried about this meeting.

Eva sighed and looked away briefly. "I don't want Heather to get hurt again," She looked at me. "She hadn't been able to really enjoy motherhood completely because of this issue," She sighed. "I don't know if this was a good idea."

I shrugged.

She sighed again. "Where is she? Maybe I can - "

And, as if on cue, in she came. "Hey Eva," T said, smiling. "I didn't hear you two arrive. She then looked at me. "Did you get drinks?"

Eva and I were surprised at T's composure. "I... uh... We... We were just getting them..." I looked at Eva. "I think."

Eva shrugged.

"I'll help." T said and started taking glasses and bottles.

Eva and I were just looking at T, confused at her very positive attitude.

When she was done, she carried everything to the living room.

"What did you do to her?" Eva asked.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out.

"Whatever it is," She checked to make sure no one was coming. "Tell me, so I can do the same to Heather."

__________________________

We were all seated in the living room. There was a weird atmosphere. Eva and I were still confused by T's attitude, Heather was worried and scared of a possible bad ending, T was just smiling away, and then the boys were waiting for the adults to start the conversation.

"Well," I eventually started it. "This is nice."

Eva gave me a look.

I shrugged. I then looked at T. I reached for her hand, holding it in mine. "How are you, baby?"

She looked at me. "I'm fine," She then looked at Heather. "How had motherhood been?" It was clear T wanted to shift the attention on Eva and Heather, and their baby. I wondered why.

Heather was also now confused at T's sudden change of heart. "Good," She nodded, regaining her composure. "Yeah, really good."

Eva nodded, agreeing. "Even the nights," She started, gaining a nod from Heather. "Hannah sleeps most nights, it's a delight."

"I can imagine." I smiled and looked at T. I noticed how she was mostly looking at the baby. But why?

As if Heather seemed to catch on to the same thing, she looked at Hannah. She caressed her tiny face a bit before looking at T. "So, this is Hannah." She slowly showed her daughter to T, but remained at a safe distance.

T scooted closer, surprising us all. "She's beautiful."

Heather smiled, and instantly I could see what Eva meant before. T's words truly warmed Heather, it was clear T's opinion meant a lot to her.

Hearing those positive words, Heather seemed to feel more confident. She scooted closer as well. "She is," She smiled at her daughter. "I never imagined loving someone as much as her."

T nodded.

Heather looked up. "Do you want to hold her?"

Instantly, Eva and I looked at T, curious about her response. Curious and anxious.

T seemed to take a bit before answering, as if she too was wondering what the best thing to say and do was. I knew she was thinking a lot, and feeling a lot.

Heather seemed to notice T was, once again, not answering her immediately. But, unlike before, she was willing to wait a bit. To give T some time to think.

I scooted closer to T, hoping that my presence would help her feel strong enough.
And to my surprise, Jin stepped closer too, sitting down right next to T.

T looked at him. Jin smiled at her, and she smiled back, before looking at Heather. "I would love to."

Heather smiled as she handed Hannah over to T.

T's face changed when she was holding Hannah. I could see this did something to her. She was cradling Hannah slowly and softly, like a natural-born mother.
Seeing her interact with Hannah, with a baby, made me realize what T missed out on. Sure, we had our boys, but they were able to walk when we adopted them. They were grown up a bit. Hannah was just a tiny baby, a baby that depended on her mother completely. And I guess, that's what T desired the most.

So maybe... Maybe we need to talk. Maybe... Maybe our family needs to get a bit bigger.
