- A few months later
Talia's POV
"I wonder when she'll get back," Leah said, looking behind her towards the stairs. "She's been in the bathroom for quite some time..."
"Leave her be, baby," I said, gaining her attention. "Remember how we were when we got married?"
She shrugged.
"I was nervous," I nodded, remembering the day we got married. "I was excited to become your wife but so nervous about the event. I wanted everything to go well and I was so focused on that and less on us. I sometimes regret that."
She nodded. "Yeah," She let out a breath. "It was an amazing day," She looked towards the stairs again. "It's just that I've never seen Heather like that," She looked back at me. "I always thought she was this iron lady. I didn't think a wedding would throw her off."
I chuckled. "Heather has a huge mouth but an even bigger heart," I smiled. "I'm sure all she can think about right now is Eva."
She nodded again.
Finally, Heather returned. She didn't look too good. She looked miserable, sick almost. She sighed and let herself fall onto the couch. "I hate today."
Leah and I were both surprised to hear this. "Why? It's your big day."
She buried her face in her hands, shaking her head. "I don't want it," She sighed. "I can't do it."
I frowned. Where was this coming from? "Don't say that, you've got to get ready," I got up, wanting to pull her up too but she didn't move. "Heather, come on."
Leah looked at Heather. "I know what you're feeling," She suddenly said. Heather looked up, seemingly curious about what Leah was going to say. "I felt the same way on my wedding day."
Heather gulped.
"I felt like I wasn't good enough for T," She started, gaining my full attention. I never knew this, she never told me any of that. "I wanted this day to be perfect for her but I worried I would be the one to ruin it."
Heather slowly nodded. "Yeah." She said softly.
Leah scooted closer, seemingly shutting me out of the conversation. "I know it's hard," She said softly. "But you have to remind yourself that she wants you," She showed Heather a small smile. "She proposed to you. She wants to spend her life with you."
Heather looked at Leah. "I know," She looked down briefly. "I just don't want to ruin anything. She deserves the best."
Leah nodded. "And the best is you," She placed her hand on Heather's knee. "Trust me."
Heather smiled. "Thank you," She said softly before looking at me. "Ok, let's get ready."

Leah's POV
We arrived at the town hall and parked the car. We got out. T helped Heather get out as she had an impossible dress. I didn't get why you'd make it harder for yourself with a dress like that... But then again, we're talking about Heather. Nothing is normal with her...
We entered the town hall. We walked to a separate room for Heather, where she could wait for Eva to arrive. Whilst there, Heather seemed to lose her cool again. "Where is she?" She asked, referring to Eva. "Shouldn't she be here already?"
"Heather," T said. "We start in 15 minutes, Eva has got some time left."
Heather looked around. "I'm sorry."
I smiled at her. "You'll do well," I said, gaining her attention. "You'll enjoy this celebration and the meal," I then got closer to her. "And your dessert tonight." I winked at her.
She chuckled. "That's the part I'm looking out to the most."
"I bet."
T got in between us. "So," I sometimes wondered if she was jealous about how close Heather and I had gotten. She certainly seemed to be uncomfortable about it. I wondered why, she wanted us to be good friends... "Leah and I should get to the room, we want good seats."
"Uhm - "
"We'll be right there when you need us," T said, interrupting Heather and pulling me with her. "You'll do well." She said before exiting the room with me.
We walked to the room and entered. We saw family members, mostly of Eva's I heard. Heather wasn't that close with her family apparently. Then we spotted Charlotte and Mary with her husband. We waved at them and went to sit with them.
"Hey." We greeted them all.
"Hi." They'd reply.
"How is she doing?" Charlotte asked, referring to Heather.
I nodded. "She's doing well."
"She's an emotional wreck," T said. "She's worried about the event."
I nudged T. "You should be nicer to her." I whispered, only for her to hear.
She shrugged.
Moments later, the doors opened, and in came Eva. She looked beautiful. She wore a simple and elegant white dress. Her make up was natural, as usual. No heels, as usual. It was so Eva. Her most beautiful feature: her smile. She was shining bright, happiness showing on her face. She was ready to become Heather's wife.
She walked to the front. When she passed us, she waved at us. I smiled and waved back.
When she was at the front, we all looked back for Heather's entrance. And, when those doors opened, Heather too stole the show. She didn't wear white. She wore a red, laced dress. Matching shoes, with heels. Her lips were bright red to match. But, behind all that, I could tell how nervous she was. How she wanted to do well, for Eva.
When she passed us, I smiled at her, hoping she'd feel supported.
The ceremony went well, Heather seemed to have calmed down, until their vows...
Eva was the first to go. "Heather, when we first met, I was overwhelmed by our bluntness," She started, getting some laughter from the audience. "You don't hold back. You say what you think, you speak from the heart, and that's what I admire so much about you. You're an honest and loyal partner," She smiled, looking down briefly. "I've never been the girl to hang around people as you did, but I'm glad we crossed paths when we did. I'm hoping we can follow this path until death do us part."
Heather looked down, seemingly having a hard time. I looked at her, hoping she'd feel me stare. It seemed to work as she looked at me briefly. I smiled and nodded, trying to once again support her.
She took a deep breath, collecting herself. "Eva," She paused a bit. "Your name is as elegant, as delicate as you," She smiled a bit, though it faded quickly. "I've never really believed in love. It's not something I thought was for me. When my friends got married, I felt this emptiness in my life," She looked down briefly. "But when I met you, that was gone. You gave me a purpose. You're the missing link. You're the partner I want for the rest of my life," She paused again. "Although I don't know what you saw in me, I'm forever grateful that you decided to marry me and be my wife. Because I love you so much."
Eva smiled at Heather, holding her hands. Heather seemed to like that gesture as she also smiled.
"Miss Eva," The ceremony master started. "Do you take Miss Heather to be your lawfully, wedded wife?"
Eva smiled at Heather. "I do."
He nodded, looking at Heather. "Miss Heather, do you take Miss Eva to be your lawfully, wedded wife?"
Heather took a deep breath. "I do too."
We all laughed a bit before cheering as they shared the kiss that would seal their new adventure.
