Leah's POV
"So we went home, the boys were exhausted," I smiled, thinking back at our day out. "We put them to bed after dinner," I sighed. "It's then that I felt lost. T had told me she wanted me to read what she had written down," I paused for a bit. "But getting to that point, it was weird."
"Weird how?"
I thought about that for a bit. "I didn't know how we'd get to the reading part," I tried explaining myself. "It felt odd for me to simply ask her to give her notepad to me."
Eva nodded. "So how did you get to that point?"
I looked down, sighing. "We didn't."
She seemed surprised.
"We managed to get into the bedroom, and I thought she'd allow me to read it there. But then she started getting ready for bed, so I also got ready. And before I knew it, she was tucked in bed and ready to sleep."
Eva nodded. "Did you ask her for the notepad?"
I shook my head. "I should have," I sighed. "But I was afraid."
"Why?"
I gulped. "I was afraid I'd push her too much," I looked away. "I was afraid of what she had written down."
"I understand."
I sighed before looking back at her.
"Dealing with someone who's going through a rough time is always difficult, Leah," She showed me a gentle smile. "You're doing great."
"I don't feel like I am," I sighed again. "T clearly wanted to share her thoughts with me and she didn't get to."
"From what I'm hearing here, it doesn't sound like she was that eager to talk about it."
I raised my eyebrows. "Then why would she bring it up?"
Eva shrugged. "Could have many reasons."
I sighed and looked away.
"So my due date is getting closer," She said, gaining my attention. She was seated in a very comfortable chair, one Heather had chosen for her. She was just glowing. I could see just how happy she was about this next phase in her life. And I couldn't help but smile, because I was happy for her, for Heather. "I don't know how much longer we can have these sessions in my house."
"I know," I shrugged. "I'll enjoy them as long as I have them."
She sat up a bit, trying to get closer to me. "You know I'm also here for you as a friend."
I nodded.
"Ok," She smiled a bit before looking at the time. "That's it for this week's session." She said and tried to get up. It took her a while to get up.
I looked at her and offered her my help, but she refused. She had told me before she wanted to do it all on her own.
"That's one thing I won't miss about being pregnant," She patted her belly. "Right now I feel like a walking balloon." She said as she and I made our way to her living room.
In the living room, Heather was waiting, as usual. "Hi."
Eva went to sit back down next to Heather. Heather immediately wrapped her arm around Eva, as if protecting her.
Heather looked at me before looking back at Eva. "Have you asked her?"
Eva shook her head.
"Asked me what?"
Eva looked down while Heather looked at me. "We would like to have a nice gathering," Heather thought about it. "A party," She settled with. "We were wondering if we could expect you and your family."
I raised my eyebrows. "What kind of party is this?"
Eva smiled suddenly.
"A party to say thanks," Heather smiled too. "You know in America they have Thanksgiving," She said to which I nodded. "We quite like the idea of saying thanks and started celebrating it as well, in our own way though."
I nodded slowly.
"I'd love for everyone to be together, to..." She was looking for the right words. "To be happy together, to be thankful for what we have."
I looked at Eva and saw she was just smiling, she seemed proud of Heather. I smiled too. "Sounds like a great idea, Heather."
She smiled. "So we can expect you guys to come too?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "We'd love that."

"Thanksgiving."
The boys looked at me, both confused. "Thanksgiving?" They both said, repeating me.
I nodded.
"What is that?" Emil asked.
"Do you two know America?" I asked and looked at their faces. I immediately saw just how confused they were getting.
"Wait," I got up and walked to the library T and I had set up for the boys. All kinds of books were in there to educate, entertain, and read for them. "Here," I said as I found the book I was looking for. I went back to them and sat back on the ground with them. I showed them the book. "What is this?"
They both were raising their fingers enthusiastically.
"Yes, Jinnie?"
Jin smiled. "Earth."
"Very well, Jinnie."
"I knew that too." Emil said.
"I know, tiger, well done," I opened the book. "In this book, we can see what's on Earth," I went to the pages for America. "This is America."
"West." Jin exclaimed.
"Yes, Jinnie," I smiled at him. "It's West on Earth," I pointed at it so Emil would see it too. "America is a big country, far from here, but many things they do, we know about."
They were both listening very carefully to what I was saying.
"They have a holiday called Thanksgiving," I said. "It's a day where they're saying thanks about what they have, about being with family."
They nodded.
"Auntie Heather wants to do the same thing."
They nodded again.
"What is that?" Emil asked as he pointed to a picture of the Statue of Liberty.
"That's a very famous thing in America," I closed the book. "But that's for a different time."
"Noo." They both said, clearly upset.
"What's going on here?"
We all looked up and saw T stand there. Ever since our day out, things had been weird between me and her, and between her and the kids. Emil didn't understand the bandaid thing as Jin did, but he felt the tense atmosphere.
"I was explaining to them what Thanksgiving is." I said and got up, showing her the book I used.
As I was putting it away again, T frowned. "Why?"
I looked at her.
"Auntie Heather is doing the same thing." Emil said.
T looked from him to me. She looked at me for a bit before going to the front door and leaving.
I sighed deeply.
"Mama?" I looked at the boys, they were both looking at me. "Did I say something wrong?" Emil asked.
"No no," I went back to them. "I think tata is going to talk to Auntie Heather about it," I could see they didn't believe me, unfortunately, my boys were getting too smart. "Who wants to learn about our country?"
They looked at each other before looking at me. "I want to learn about the island." Emil said.
I frowned. "What island?"
"England." Jin clarified.
Emil nodded even though I could clearly see he had no clue what that meant.
I smiled before taking another book. "England it is," I went to sit down and opened the book. "Welcome to England, boys."
