Leah's POV
"T?" I was standing at the front door, tapping my feet every so often. "T, are you almost done?" I looked at my watch. "Come on, baby."
"Coming!" I heard her rush down the stairs. "I'm here," She said as she put on her jacket and shoes. "I'm here." She repeated.
I smiled at her before taking the keys. "Let's go."
We walked to our car and got in. T was driving, I was looking outside the window. I was already thinking about our day. I was excited about it. T's parents suggested to me to take T out for the day. It didn't have to be anything special, but it would be good to keep her busy.
We arrived at our destination. T parked the car and paid for the spot. "Ok," She smiled at me. "What now?"
I presented my hand, which she took. "Now we go shopping!" I pulled T with me and walked us to the street which was filled with stores. I had to admit, I wasn't all that crazy about shopping but I just loved spending time with T outside the house.
T seemed eager as she was pointing to many stores. We tried a few stores. T tried on some clothes and presented those to me. Sometimes she'd even try clothes that really weren't her style, just to have a laugh.
Around lunchtime, we found a nice little restaurant. After we had ordered, T was smiling at me. I smiled back at her. "It's so nice how things are better now," I paused. "Between us."
She slowly nodded.
"Baby, " I scooted closer to her. "How are you feeling?"
She raised her eyebrows. "Uhm, I'm feeling fine."
I slowly nodded. "How's your depression going?" I asked. It sounded a bit harsh to ask her straight away but I learned this allowed T to speak freely about her thoughts. Somehow, it also seemed like she appreciated it I asked her this question.
She gulped. "It's going well," She reached for my hands, holding them in hers. She was clearly looking for comfort. "I've been trying to take it day by day," She then looked at me. "I've been writing down my thoughts as well."
I nodded. "That's really good, baby," I pulled her hands to my lips and kissed them. "I'm really proud of you."
She smiled a bit. "If you want we can go over my thoughts tonight..."
"I'd love to," I smiled at her and gained a smile back from her. I could tell she wanted to talk about her thoughts and I wasn't going to push her away. "Hopefully you'll be able to write many happy thoughts about today."
She chuckled a bit. "Absolutely."
When our meals came, we ate and talked about random things. Lighter subjects that allowed us both to laugh a bit and release some stress. It was a wonderful lunch.
After lunch, we continued our walk through the street. "Oh T, look at that!" I said as I pulled T with me. We entered a store and I immediately go for the one item I saw. "Here," I took one out. "Wouldn't that look great on me?"
T looked at what I had chosen. "A onesie?"
"Yes," I looked at it. "I want one," I then looked at T. "I'm always so cold, this should help."
She shrugged. "Try it on."
I walked to the changing rooms and immediately tried it on. "Well," I said revealing myself. "What do you think?"
She looked at me and smiled. "You look so adorable!" She got up and hugged me. "And you're so soft!"
I pushed T back a bit. "It feels warm."
She smiled at me. "How much is it?"
"I don't know," I turned around, trying to look for the label, but realized I wouldn't be able to see it as long as I was wearing the onesie. "Give me a minute." I started undressing again.
T was looking at me. She seemed to enjoy my struggle as she was trying her best to fight a smile.
"Here it is," I took the label and read it out loud. I then looked at T. "It's too expensive."
She looked at the onesie, then at me. "We'll get this for you."
"But it's expensive." I often found things expensive as I didn't like spending money. It's why I barely got things when I went shopping. Because everything is too expensive in my opinion.
"You deserve it," She took the onesie to the register and paid for it. We then left the store. "Tonight you can try it on."
I smiled at her and kissed her cheek. "Thank you!"
We continued to go into stores, not really buying anything. We would take a few clothes and try them on but nothing would really catch our eyes.
"What do you think about this, T?" I asked but noticed she didn't open the curtains. "T?" I then decided to open the curtains myself. But, when I did, I saw T wasn't here. I frowned. Where was she?
I got out of the clothes I tried and put on my own clothes again. I then got back to the store and looked for T. Finally, I found her.
"There you are," I walked to her. When I was close to her, I noticed she wasn't doing anything. She wasn't responding to me anymore. She seemed focused on something. "T?"
She didn't respond.
I followed her gaze and saw a woman and a baby. The woman was going through the baby's clothes and putting some in front of the baby. I looked back at T and then realized what was going on here. "Come," I pulled her out of the store. "Hey, are you ok?" I asked as we were outside again.
She gulped and looked down. She shook her head.
I pulled her in for a hug, and thankfully she hugged me back. "It's ok," I said softly. "I understand," I held her for a while before pulling back to look at her. "Do you want to go back home?"
She slowly nodded. "I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize, T, I understand."
"I'm still sorry."
I smiled a bit. I leaned in and kissed her cheek. "We'll go home and watch a movie together. And then we can talk about your thoughts," I pulled back a bit to look at her face. "Does that sound good?"
She showed me a very small smile and nodded. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, baby," I took her hand in mine. "Let's go home."
