Leah's POV

A small smile appeared on T's face before she reached for my hands, holding them in hers. "Leah," She let out a small breath. "We're having a child together."

I pulled my hands back. I was lost for words. A million thoughts were racing through my mind and, at the same time, I couldn't think about anything. I was literally lost.

"It's the next step, the next logical step," She smiled at me, she seemed really convinced about this. "Can you imagine, us with our child?" She let out a happy breath. "We'll have so much fun."

While she was seemingly dreaming about that time, I was dreading that time. Seeing her so happy, made me almost feel guilty for not wanting this. Don't get me wrong, I did want kids with T but it didn't feel right just yet. In my opinion, I was still a child myself. I wasn't parent-material yet.

T was pointing at places in our house, things she'd do with the child, she'd say. Or things she'd get the child and put at those places. She was really into this, so much so, she almost seemed to forget about me.

Without responding to her, I got up and walked away.

"Leah!"

I went straight to the front door, took my jacket, and ran. I ran away. I literally ran away from her.

Talia's POV

"Leah!" I hurried after her but couldn't get to her in time. She had run away from me. She had left in the rain, in the dark, to get away from me... Was I that bad? Was she not happy?

I immediately took my phone and called her, but noticed her phone was on the coffee table in the living room. I cursed as I realized she had left without anything: she didn't have her phone, she didn't have her keys, she didn't have a car, she was barely dressed to get out in the rain and the dark. She wasn't safe like that.

I went back through my contacts and called Leah's mom.

"Talia?"

I was breathing rapidly as if I had just run a mile. "Leah ran away," I stated, immediately gaining a panicked reaction from her. "She left in the dark without her phone..."

"What happened?"

I looked down, I wasn't sure I wanted to tell her the good news through the phone. "I'll explain later, right now we need to find her."

"Ok, I'll get in my car and - "

"No," I said, cutting her off. "I think you should stay at home, I'm pretty sure she's on her way to you."

"I see," I heard her move around. "I'll keep an eye out for her, what will you do then?"

I sighed. "I guess I'll drive around to find her."

"Ok, keep me updated."

"You too." I then hung up the phone and rushed to the front door. I took my keys and went to my car. I started the engine and drove around our town. I looked everywhere for her, hoping to find her in time.

As the minutes ticked by, I got more nervous. And since Leah's mom wasn't calling me, I knew she wasn't there either. Where was she?

I kept going around every street, looking left and right. I had to admit though, I was growing tired. I really wanted to rest. I wish Leah would come back to me so we could talk about our future and then get some sleep.

After some time, I parked the car on the side of the road. It was getting too dark to look around for her, I was wondering if she may have gotten to her mom's or somewhere else.

I took my phone again. "Hey, any news?"

"No," Leah's mom sighed. "I'm guessing you haven't found her either..."

I shook my head. "I don't know where she'd go to," I looked outside, at the dark neighborhood. "She must be afraid, she hates darkness," I sighed. "Where is she?"

"We have to keep looking for her."

I nodded. "I know," I yawned then. "I'll try."

"Talia," She said, gaining my attention. "Get some sleep, you're tired."

"But Leah - "

"She'll come back, get some sleep now."

I wanted to fight her, I didn't understand why she'd stop looking for her daughter so easily, but I was so tired. So instead, I agreed. "Ok."

"Good night."

"Good night." I ended the call. Then, I drove home.

Leah's POV

I arrived at mom's house. I was breathing heavily, both from the running and because I was scared of the dark.

I entered the house and saw mom was on the phone. She turned around, her eyes widened. "Talia," She said, gaining my attention. "Get some sleep, you're tired."

I gulped, I was unsure whether mom would tell T I was here or not.

"She'll come back, get some sleep now," She said before nodding. "Good night," Mom hung up the phone before looking at me. "Where have you been? Talia and I have been worried sick."

Before I could say anything, I burst out into tears. I ran to my mom and hugged her tightly.

"Leah," Mom immediately hugged me back. "What's wrong? Did something happen?" She caressed my back, calming me down that way.

I sniffled, trying to stop crying. "T..." I pulled back to look mom in the eyes. "She did something..."

Mom raised her eyebrows.

I looked away, gulping again. "She's so happy about it and I feel so bad that I'm not happy," I looked at mom then. "But I'm not ready for it."

Mom frowned. "Leah," She got a hold of my shoulders, gently squeezing them. "What are you talking about?"

I didn't reply immediately, I breathed in and out a few times as if trying to collect all the courage I had to say it to my mom. I looked at her then. "T is pregnant."

Mom's frown disappeared instantly, she dropped her arms by her sides, she seemed lost for words.

I nodded slowly. "I know..." I looked away.

"D-did you two talk about this?"

I looked at mom before shaking my head. "We talked about it briefly," I gulped. "But there were no plans," I looked down. "She did this behind my back," I then looked at mom again. "What am I supposed to do now?"

Mom didn't reply, instead, she pulled me in for a hug again. She would hold me a long time, caressing my back now and then. We didn't really talk about it anymore either, I think we were both baffled by T's surprise...
