Leah's POV
I was pacing around the living room. "Is this really going to work?" I stopped pacing and looked at T's parents.
"We can only try." T's father said.
T's mother nodded. "Maybe she'll listen now because we're all together."
I slowly nodded but wasn't convinced completely. I could only hope this would work. But would T listen to her parents? They know her well, maybe they'll find a way to get through to her.
"When will she get home?" T's father asked.
I looked at the time. "Between now and 5 minutes."
He nodded while T's mother seemed surprised. "She stays at school a long time, why is that?"
I shrugged. "Paperwork, I guess."
"You guess?" She didn't seem pleased. "Strange..."
I sighed and looked away. It was then that I saw our car parking in front. "She's here." I said which made them look at the front door immediately.
T entered the house and immediately looked at me. "Why are you standing there?" She then looked around and saw her parents. She then looked back at me and frowned. "What's this?"
I sighed. "We have to talk," I gulped. "About what you said this morning."
She raised her eyebrows. "Really?"
Then it was my turn to raise my eyebrows. "What?"
"You had to get my parents involved?" She huffed. "You couldn't do it on your own?"
I gulped and looked away, at T's parents. I was hoping they would save me. I was hoping they could avoid T bursting out at me.
"Talia," T's dad immediately said, clearly catching on to my cry for help. "Leah is worried about you and asked us for help. She did the right thing."
T didn't look at her father, she kept looking at me. She was so angry, I could tell she would explode. The question is: when?
"Talia," T's mom said. "Look at me."
Despite how angry she was, T looked at her mom.
T's mom got up and walked to T. "You can be angry about us being here but we're not going away until we've cleared the situation," She pulled T with her to the couch. She made T sit down and then sat down too. "Leah," She then looked at me. "Have a seat."
I nodded and walked to the couch. I sat down, next to T, and looked at T's parents. It's crazy how I felt so insecure suddenly. I was counting on T's parents to help me, maybe I was even too dependent on them...
T crossed her arms, she was pissed. She wasn't going to listen to anything I would say, I could tell that much. I could only hope her parents would know what to do.
I looked at her parents and motioned to T with my eyes.
"Talia," T's dad started. "We understand you want to try to get pregnant again?"
T didn't say anything, she was simply fuming with anger.
"Talia," T's mom tried. "I understand how you long for a child," She said, finally gaining T's attention. "I had the same feeling when I became pregnant with you."
T's angry expression vanished a bit, it seemed she felt understood.
"I would've done anything to get you," She smiled a bit. "But it wouldn't have worked without your father's support," She reached for T's hand. "You need Leah by your side, the pregnancy won't be worth it without her."
T looked down before looking at me. "I really need this, baby."
I looked at her but didn't say anything. I felt like it wouldn't matter what I would be saying, she wouldn't listen.
"I know you need more time but," She looked down. "I need this," She sighed deeply. "Maybe this is my way to deal with the pain of our loss but I just really need this."
I looked away then.
She sighed again. "I'm sorry for being selfish."
I looked back at her as that caught my attention.
"I know that I've been thinking about myself without thinking about you," She sighed deeply. "I'm sorry."
I slowly smiled a bit. "You should know that all I ever want is for you to be happy," I said which made her nod. "I'd do anything for you, that's why I've been against this."
She raised her eyebrows. "I don't get that. If you want to do anything to make me happy, why would you take away the one thing that would make me happy?"
"Because I care about you," I scooted closer to her. "I really think you're rushing this decision. I just don't want to lose you, not again."
T looked down a bit when she heard me say that. It's as if she finally understood I wasn't against her, I was with her.
In the corner of my eyes, I saw T's parents look at us. They were watching the conversation closely.
"Thank you for caring about me so much," She then looked back at me. "I care a lot about you too, it's the main reason why I haven't started the process on my own already."
I slowly nodded.
"I just really want a child with you," She reached for my hand and held it in hers. "I know that now isn't the right time but a pregnancy lasts 9 months. We've got plenty of time to be ready by then."
I looked down a bit. I wasn't sure what to say anymore. I wasn't all for this idea but I wasn't up to fight her any more. I just wanted peace. I wanted love. So, maybe, I had to surrender...?
"I think so, at least." She said, barely above a whisper.
I gulped before nodding. "You're right," I looked at her then and saw how her eyes beamed with happiness. "All I want is for you to be happy," I smiled a bit. "If this will make you happy, I won't stop it."
She smiled immediately. "Oh, baby," She leaned forward and pulled me into her. "I love you so much!"
I hugged her back. "I love you too, baby."
