Leah's POV

All day I had been thinking about T and the way she had been acting differently lately. Sure, last night and this morning, I noticed it more. But I realized she had been acting differently for a while now. I wondered: should I ask her about it?

During my lunch break, I walked around the city and took my phone. I dialed Charlotte's number, I figured a friend of T's might see a change too...

"Hey, Leah."

"Hey," I sighed. "Is T with you?"

"No," I suddenly heard a lock, I assumed she just locked her classroom. "Why? Is something wrong?"

I shrugged, even though she couldn't see it. "I don't know," I sighed again. "She's just..." I looked down. "She changed."

"Changed?" She paused, seemingly thinking about it. "I guess she dresses differently and she eats differently, but - "

"She eats differently?" I raised my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Well, it's no secret there are often sweets in the teachers' lounge," She said to which I nodded. "Talia has a sweet tooth, she'd never leave the teachers' lounge without a candy or anything," She paused. "Lately, she hasn't eaten any sweets."

I buried my face in my free hand, realizing something was definitely going on. "Anything else you noticed?"

"Hmm..." She took a while before saying: "She takes these meds right after lunch."

"Meds?"

"Yes," She paused. "Why?"

I sighed. "Something's going on with her and she's not telling me, clearly..."

"Just talk to her," She said, to which I let out a deep breath. "You don't know what it is, maybe it's not that bad..."

"Maybe," I got up, deciding to go back to school. "Ok, I'll try to talk to her tonight."

"Ok, bye."

"Bye."

Talia's POV

I usually used my free time during the day to do most of my school work, that way I'd have more time for Leah at home. It was a good solution to me, however, it did make me look like an anti-social person.

A knock on my door, followed by 2 footsteps, got my attention. I smiled as I saw Charlotte. "Hey, have a seat."

"Thanks," She cleared her throat. "But I'd rather keep standing."

I frowned and stopped grading tests. I crossed my arms and gave her my full attention. "What's going on?"

She nodded. "I'd like to ask you that same question," She walked closer to me. "Why are you lying to Leah?"

I raised my eyebrows. "What?"

"She noticed little changes in your behavior, as did I," She sighed. "Please don't do this to her anymore..."

"Do what?"

"You're keeping something from her, Talia," She paused, looking away. "Leah isn't stupid, she notices these things," She then looked at me again. "Tell her."

I looked down, fidgeting with the pen I was holding.

"What could possibly be so bad you'd have to hide it from her?" She then finally took a seat in front of my desk. "Are you cheating on her?"

My head shot up. "No!"

"Then what could be so bad?" She looked apologetically at me. "Are you having health problems? Is that why you take those meds?"

I gulped as I realized she had seen that. "Did you tell Leah about that?"

She nodded.

I sighed and looked down.

"Talia," She leaned closer to me. "You know you can talk to her about anything, right?"

I slowly nodded before looking up at her. "I'll talk to her," I gulped. "I guess I've waited long enough."

She nodded slowly, I could tell she wasn't entirely sure what I was saying.

Leah's POV

I've never felt more nervous than that night I waited for T to get home. I had been going over what I was going to tell her or ask her all day long. The things Charlotte had told me had alarmed me even more. Something was going on, and I was going to find out what.

I was at the dining table, tapping the table with my finger. I had my phone next to my hand, in case she'd call me. My eyes were glued to the front door as if that would make her get home sooner.

Finally, she arrived home. "Hey baby," She said before pulling off her jacket and shoes. She then walked to me, wanting to kiss my lips, but pulled back when she noticed I wasn't going in for the kiss. She went to sit down in front of me. "What's going on?"

"Yes, T," I looked at her, dead in the eyes. "What's going on?"

She sighed before looking away, her eyes landed on the kitchen. "Let's first eat dinner, ok?"

"Why wait?"

She looked at me before getting up. "I'm hungry." She then went to the kitchen.

About an hour later, she served us food. She sat down and let out a deep breath. "This is going to be nice," She licked her lips before digging into her meal. "I'm starving."

I looked at her meal, it did look tasty, but I wasn't really in the mood to eat. I kept looking at T, hoping she'd feel my stare on her. I hoped it would bother her to the point she'd start talking.

And it worked. She sighed. "Fine," She put her fork and knife down before looking at me. "What Charlotte told you, is true."

I nodded, I figured I could trust the information Charlotte told me.

She sighed, looking away. "When we got back together," She paused, seemingly looking for the right words. "I wanted us to have a future, I was so eager about our future together," She then looked at me. "I went over what we had achieved so far."

I raised my eyebrows, I was confused about where she was going with this.

"I have a job, we have a house, we're married..." She gulped. "What's the next step?" She then looked me in the eyes.

I blinked a few times. "T..." I paused, I seemed lost for words. "W-what are you saying?"

A small smile appeared on her face before she reached for my hands, holding them in hers. "Leah," She let out a small breath. "We're having a child together."
