Leah's POV

The next day, Heather moved in. She had gone home after our conversation and started packing. It seemed she was really serious about this.

When the doorbell rang, I let out a sigh of relief. I was so happy that I'd get help. I wasn't going to be here on my own, taking care of T. We could watch her together.

I nearly ran to the front door. I opened it and smiled.

"Your support buddy has arrived!"

I smiled even more. "Thank you so much for this," I opened the door more so she could get inside with her stuff. "Is there more in the car?"

"Yeah, 2 more bags."

I walked to her car and got the bags out of the backseat. I walked to my house again. "There we go."

"Thanks," She looked around. "So where will I sleep?"

"Right," I picked up the two bags again. "Follow me."

We walked upstairs. I had given this much thought. I knew T wouldn't want anyone else to sleep in our future children's rooms. So I had given her the spare room, which wasn't actually a bedroom. It was some kind of office in which T kept her paperwork.

Heather looked around. "There's no bed?"

"No," I gulped. "But maybe we can get a couch here?"

She dropped her two bags to the ground and looked around. "It's alright," She took a bag and opened it. "I brought a sleeping bag," She laid it out on the ground. "There, I've got a bed."

I looked at it, then at her. "Are you sure this is alright? I don't mind getting a couch in here so you can lay more comfortable."

"Leah," She walked to me. "I didn't come here to relax, I came here to help you. I'm fine like this, really." She then showed me a small smile.

I smiled a bit. "Ok."

"It's starting to look nice," I said as I looked around Heather's temporary room. She had taken some things from her house, for example, some pictures, and her cat... The cat walked to me, I smiled and knelt. "Hey there," I let him smell my hand. "What's his name again?"

Heather looked at us. "Felix."

I looked back at Felix and smiled. He was trying to get me to pet him. "He's such a sweetheart."

"Yeah," Heather smiled as she watched me pet her cat. "He's the best."

I looked at her. "Have you found a therapist for T?"

"Yeah," Heather took her phone out and seemed to look for something. "I found this," She then handed me her phone. "It's a place where multiple therapists work together. Maybe we can call with T's case and have them choose someone for her."

I looked at the place. "This is a center though," I looked at Heather. "Isn't it odd to have her go to a therapist at a center?"

"No no," Heather then snatched her phone back. "They also do home visits," She then showed me on her phone. "We can call and ask them for help. They'll find the therapist that matches Talia the best and they'll visit here."

I slowly nodded. "That seems alright," I slowly got up. "We should call them today maybe," Before I could say anything else, I noticed how Felix was rubbing his body against my legs. "Wow, he really wants to be pet!"

Heather chuckled. "Yeah, he likes the ladies." She joked.

I chuckled. "I'm sorry, Felix, but we have to do some things. Why don't you go check out your temporary house?" I said to him and opened the door to the rest of the house.

Immediately, his eyes beamed with curiosity and he jolted out the room.

"So long, soldier," I saluted him before turning to Heather. "He's great."

She nodded. "So, maybe we have to inform Talia?"

I frowned.

"About me moving in," She clarified. "I know Felix, he'll jump on her if he finds her. I think it's a good idea she knows what to expect."

I nodded then. "Let's go to her now."

We walked to our room. I motioned Heather to be quiet before we entered the room. The room was dark as T didn't want to see any light.

I walked to the bed and went to lay down next to her. I was facing her. "Hey," I said gently. "It's me."

T opened her eyes and looked at me, tears were still rolling down her face. She hadn't stopped crying since the bad news. At least, she looked at me now.

"We got some help," I motioned to Heather to get closer, which she did. T immediately looked at Heather before looking back at me. "Heather is going to help us a bit. Isn't that nice?"

T just looked at me, she didn't really react to that news.

"She brought her cat too," I said, smiling a bit. "Felix, remember?"

T blinked a bit. But she still didn't reply.

"He's such a sweetheart but he loves the ladies, Heather said," I smiled more. "So he could stop by and pay you a visit."

T then closed her eyes, seemingly ending the conversation.

I sighed a bit before leaning closer to her. "Rest some more," I kissed her cheek. "I love you," I then got up out of bed and walked out of the room with Heather. "Now she knows."

Heather looked at the closed bedroom door. She gulped before she looked at me. "She's really deep."

I gulped and nodded. "It's been hard for her."

She sighed and looked away, at nothing in particular. It seemed that seeing T like that, left a huge impression on her.

"We'll get her through this," I said, gaining Heather's attention. "We need to stay strong for her."

She slowly smiled. "Yeah," She nodded before looking at me. "You're right," She let out a deep breath. "It was really hard to see her like that..." She paused. "But you manage to deal with this," She placed her hand on my shoulder, again a huge step for us. "My deepest respect for you, Leah."

I gulped as that was a compliment that meant a lot to me, especially coming from Heather. "Thank you," I then did something I never thought I would. I leaned closer to her and hugged her. "Thank you for supporting us."

It took her some time but she eventually hugged me back.
