Leah's POV

"Eva?" I gulped. I didn't know what to expect from this. Something inside me told me to brace myself for yet another angry Eva. "C-Come in." I motioned for her to enter.

She entered and looked around, as if she was looking for something, before looking at me. "Are the boys home?"

I nodded. "They're outside," I started walking towards the garden, motioning her to follow me, which she did. "They're playing." I stated the obvious as she could see it with her own eyes.

She watched them for a bit, a smile found its way onto her face.

I couldn't help but wonder why she was here. I knew Heather was also at school, like T, so maybe Eva felt lonely.

As if she felt my stare, she looked at me. "I came to talk." She said, as if she knew what was going through my mind.

I nodded. "We can sit here," I motioned to the table next to us. "This way, I can still see the kids."

She nodded and went to sit down slowly. She then looked at the table.

"That's Jin's," I said, referring to the puzzle he finished apparently. "I guess he's done."

She looked at it for a bit. "How many pieces are this?"

"A thousand," I smiled proudly at Jin's accomplishment. "He loves puzzles."

"I see that," She looked at it in awe. "It's incredible," She nodded. "He's truly a brilliant boy."

I nodded and looked at the boys, playing a bit further in the garden. Emil was trying to score points while Jin was in the goal, trying to keep the balls out. I smiled as I saw how well they were together.

"I'm sorry."

This made me look at Eva. Mainly because I didn't expect to hear this. Maybe I didn't hear it correctly. Maybe this was all wishful thinking. "What?" So I wanted to be sure.

She didn't seem hesitant or worried. She looked me right in the eyes and said: "I'm sorry."

I nodded. So I heard correctly... It felt good to hear those words. I missed our talks, I missed her as my friend, I missed her as my mental help.

She looked at the boys. "I've always wanted children," She started. "But I could never get close to other people in the way I knew was needed to achieve that goal," She glanced at me. "Then I met Heather and things changed," She looked back at the boys. "I was able to start a family and I'm happy I am," She looked at me again. "I guess I underestimated just how much there is to it."

I nodded before looking down.

"And I let my emotions get the better of me, and I'm sorry." She said, apologizing yet again. It was clear she really felt bad for what happened.

I looked at her. "It's ok," I nodded. "I shouldn't have joked around."

"No," She scooted closer, immediately placing her hand on mine. "You did nothing wrong," She breathed out. "You helped us a lot and we lashed out at you, and for that I'm sorry."

I smiled. "I don't think anyone has ever apologized so many times in such a short period of time."

She smiled too. "I just want you to know how sorry I am."

I smiled more.

"Mama?"

I looked to my left and saw Emil. "Hey tiger, what's up?"

He was breathing heavier from all the running, I assumed. He pointed to the garden. "Jin fell."

I looked in the direction he pointed and saw Jin on the grass. It looked like he was crying. I immediately got up and went to Jin. "Hey," I knelt in front of him. "What happened?"

He looked at me, tears in his eyes. "I fell." He simply said.

I nodded and looked at Emil. "What happened, tiger?"

He seemed worried. He looked at Jin. "He wanted to take the ball and fell."

I nodded and looked back at Jin. "We're going to have to treat that, Jinnie," I made sure to have him look me in the eyes. "Ok?"

He nodded.

I carried him to the table and had him sit in a chair. Then I rushed inside and quickly went to get a bandaid for him. When I got back, I heard him talk to Eva. "Here you go," I said as I showed him the bandaid. I put it on his knee and smiled. "All good."

He nodded and looked at Eva again. He waved at her before running back to Emil and playing again.

I went to sit back down and looked at Eva. "What did he say?"

She looked at me. "Oh nothing really," She smiled. "I asked him about the puzzle. He was very eager to talk about it."

"I bet." I smiled and looked back at the boys.

We went silent for a while, a long while actually. I guess we were both enjoying the good weather, the boys playing around, the soft breeze against our skin... It could be so relaxing to just sit in silence.

"How have you been doing?"

I looked at her. "I'm ok, you?"

She looked at me for a while. "One of the things I regret the most is how my personal feelings colored my professional ones."

I frowned a bit.

As she seemed to realize I didn't fully understand what she was saying, she went on: "Even though we had a falling out as friends, we shouldn't have had that as a therapist-patient."

I nodded slowly and looked away. "We don't always choose the way things go," I shrugged. "Sometimes things happen," I smiled as I looked at Jin. "They just happen."

"Who did you talk to?"

I looked back at her and saw her smile. "A very wise person."

"I can hear that," She nodded and still smiled. "It seems they helped you when I couldn't."

"Don't worry," I scooted closer to her, now also reaching for her hands. "I've missed our talks more than anything," I looked down, gulping. "I didn't realize just how much you help me until you didn't."

"I'm sorry."

I looked back up at her. "You can stop apologizing," I smiled a bit. "It's alright."

"I've let you down in more than one way," She squeezed my hand gently. "It won't happen again, you have my word."

I nodded.

"You mean a lot to me," She smiled, a warm-hearted one. "You're not only my patient, you're one of the best friends I have."

I smiled.

"And I'd like to ask you something."

"Sure," I nodded. "Anything."

She smiled. "Will you be my child's godmother?"
