Leah's POV
The next morning, I sat down at the kitchen table where mom was having breakfast. I looked at the choices that were displayed on the table but I wasn't really interested in them. Like there was a knot in my throat, I couldn't get anything through it.
"What do you want to eat?" Mom looked at me, she seemed worried. I wonder if I had kept her awake by rolling around in bed, I was restless after all.
I shrugged.
"You should talk to her about this," She leaned closer to me. "Let her explain this to you."
I shrugged again.
"Leah," Mom reached for my hand, holding it in hers. "What do you have to lose?"
I looked at her. "My freedom."
She chuckled a bit.
I sighed. "I don't understand how she can do this to me," I looked down. "She did all of this behind my back," I looked away, shaking my head in the meantime. "She's forcing this upon me and I'm not liking that."
"You don't have to feel forced to do this, Leah."
I looked back at her. "I don't have much choice now, do I?" I got up, I was still too restless. I couldn't grasp the way T was thinking about this, and it bothered me. "She wanted to have a child with me so she got pregnant," I looked at mom again. "What choice do I have? I'm forced to raise this child with her."
Mom didn't respond but looked down a bit, seemingly agreeing with what I was saying.
I looked away, at nothing in particular. "I find it very selfish."
Mom slowly nodded. "But are you upset because she didn't involve you or because she's pregnant?"
I looked at mom.
"Leah," Mom leaned closer to me. "You're about to become a mother," She said, making me sigh. "Are you upset because of how Talia handled this or because you will be a mother soon?"
I didn't reply immediately which told me I wasn't sure why I was upset either. I did wonder: was I upset to become a mother? I knew I was upset with T, she betrayed me by doing it this way. But, did I want to be a mother already? I really wasn't sure...
"Leah?"
I looked at mom. "I don't know," I sighed. "I just think I'm too young, I'm not ready."
"Then you should tell her this."
I huffed. "Why?" Before mom could reply, I went on: "What's that going to do? She's already pregnant. It's not like she can choose to stop being pregnant."
Mom looked down then.
"I'm sorry, mom," I sighed before sitting down with her. "I shouldn't be frustrated with you," I buried my face in my hands. "I'm just..." I sighed deeply.
Mom took my hand in hers. "Talk to her," She showed me a small smile. "It'll help you get rid of the frustrations you feel right now."
Even though I wasn't sure it would help me at all, I did nod.

Talia's POV
"No," I looked down, waiting for her to stop lecturing me. "No, I didn't do anything wrong."
"She wouldn't have run away if it was nothing, Talia."
I sighed. "I don't know why she ran away, Charlotte. She just did."
"So she was out all night because of nothing?"
I sighed again.
"Talia, you do realize that sounds very unbelievable?"
"Look, I don't know where she is but... " I stopped and smiled as I saw Leah enter the house.
"Talia? Talia?" She paused. "Talia, are you there?"
"Yes," I gulped. "I've got to go, bye."
"Talia - " And I hung up.
I put my phone away and gave Leah all my attention. "Hey," I walked to her. "I'm happy to see you."
Leah looked down for a bit before looking at me. "We need to seriously talk."
I nodded.
She walked to the couch, I followed her. She sat down, I sat down next to her. She sighed. "Why did you do this behind my back?" She then looked at me. "Do you have any idea how bad this looks?"
My smile disappeared immediately. "But Leah, it was never my intention to hurt you, you know that."
"You did all of this behind my back, T, did you really not think this would hurt me?"
I looked down. "I wanted to surprise you."
She huffed. "You definitely succeeded."
I gulped. "I thought you would be happy about this," I looked at her. "We're going to have a child soon," I took her hands in mine but she pulled them back instantly. "Leah," I scooted closer to her. "What's wrong?"
She looked away, shaking her head. "You chose for us to have a child," She then looked at me. "Even if I don't want this, I don't have a choice now. You chose for us."
I frowned.
"Has it occurred to you I may not want to have a child right now?"
I frowned more. "But you said you had been thinking about it?"
"Yes," She sighed. "For the future, I said."
I gulped and looked down. "I really thought you would have been happy about this," I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry."
She huffed.
"I'm sorry, I really did this with the best intentions," I looked at her and saw how frustrated she was. "I wouldn't do this with just anyone, baby. I did this because I know we have a future ahead of us, a child would be perfect in it."
"I agree, T, but not right now," She got up, pacing around the living room. "I just can't wrap my mind around the fact you ignored me, you didn't even stop to think about what I might want."
I frowned. "I was convinced you would be happy."
"I'm still in college, T!"
"So?" I frowned more. "We've got money and - "
"I'm still in college, T!"
I looked down. "I'm sorry."
She didn't respond anymore, instead, she groaned and left. She walked upstairs, to our bedroom. I knew she needed to cool off before we could talk properly about this. I could only hope she'd realize my intentions were good.
