Talia's POV

"Talia?"

I looked up at the therapist. It was my third therapist in here. The previous ones never got through to me, apparently...

He sighed and looked around briefly before looking back at me. And I could tell he was losing it as well.

Suddenly the door opened and someone in a suit entered, I'm going to guess this was an important person. "You can end the session," The person said to the therapist. Before the therapist could intervene, the person went on: "Someone else is taking over."

At this, I raised my eyebrows. That was definitely something new.

The therapist didn't seem to mind that his job was done. He got up, took his notepad, and left the room.

The person in the suit looked at me. "We found someone else to help you on your journey."

He stepped aside and the new therapist entered.

My jaw dropped.

"This is Eva Stone," He motioned to Eva. "She's one of the best around," He nodded at Eva. "Thank you for sharing your expertise with us."

Eva nodded back. "My pleasure."

The person nodded at us before leaving the room.

Eva looked at me. "Hello, Talia," She said softly. She closed the door and sat down on the couch. "It's been a while."

I just looked at her, in disbelief. Part of me was relieved I saw someone I knew, but why her? She's one of the reasons I was in this center. The fact that she wringed her way back into my life, without my permission...

She kept looking at me. She wasn't saying anything, or asking anything, she just stared at me.

It really made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't know what she expected to happen. Was she waiting for me to say something? Was she hoping I'd open up to her about my deepest pain? Well, she can wait a very long time.

So we sat there, for 2 hours, in silence. She said nothing, I said nothing.

I was getting tired of this, I wanted to do other things this afternoon. "Can we end this?"

She looked at me. She seemed happy I spoke first. "Of course."

I was confused. It was really that easy? "Uhm, ok," I frowned. "So bye." I got up.

She got up as well. She took her coat and put it on. "Bye Talia." She walked to the door.

Is she really leaving? I was so confused. I was watching her open the door, she waved at me and left.

I looked at the closed door for a while. She really left? She didn't even help me.

I got up and walked to the door. I opened it and looked around, she was really gone... I walked through the hallway, to the elevator. There, I saw her waiting for the elevator.

I walked to her. I looked at her for a while. What's her plan? I frowned.

The elevator opened and she stepped inside. When she turned around, to face the doors of the elevator, she smiled at me. "See you next time."

I frowned more. "Why are you leaving?"

She tilted her head to the side. "You wanted to end it."

Suddenly I heard a beeping noise, indicating the elevator was closing. I quickly put my arm in between, keeping it open.

She seemed surprised.

I reached for her and pulled her out. "You didn't even help me."

"Do you want to go back to your room?"

I nodded.

"Ok," She motioned me to go back to the room. "Let's go."

"I was very happy for Heather and you," I glanced at her. "I truly was."

Eva nodded.

"But I couldn't help to feel that tingling feeling of wanting it as well," I looked down. "That feeling was stronger than anything else."

"Did Leah understand that?"

I nodded. "Yes," I sighed. "She was very supportive," I shook my head. "She was perfect to me."

Eva nodded.

"And I failed her," I started feeling tears form in my eyes. "Since the day we got together, I promised myself she could always count on me," I sniffled. "And when I couldn't do that anymore," I sniffled more. "I felt like such a failure."

"Have you told Leah how you feel?"

I shook my head.

"Why not?"

I sniffled. "I have to be there for her," I glanced at her. "I can't do that if I complain."

"This isn't complaining, Talia," She showed me a gentle smile. "It's sharing."

I looked at her for a while.

"When you get married, you share the good and the bad things," She leaned in closer. "That goes for both sides."

I kept looking at her. Somehow, what she was saying, made sense.

She smiled a bit.

I was processing this revelation to me. And Eva, she allowed me to take the time I needed. "Then," I looked at her, suddenly in need of more of her wisdom. "How can you be a perfect wife?"

She smiled a bit more. "What's a perfect wife to you?"

I thought about that for a bit. "To support your partner, to take care of them, to love them unconditionally, to be their guiding light."

"Talia," She got up and walked to me. Gently, she knelt in front of me. "I want you to say that to Leah."

I looked at her before looking down. "I... I don't know..." I looked away. "I don't want to complain."

"It's not complaining," She made me look at her. "It's sharing," She smiled a bit. "Ok?"

I slowly nodded.

"Can I bring Leah next time?"

Before my brain could give that any thought, my head moved on its own and nodded.

She smiled. "Good," She got up. "You did well today."

I looked at her. Is this why Leah adores her so much? Because she can explain things so clearly?

"I'll see you next week?"

I nodded and, for the first time in weeks, I smiled.
