Leah's POV
When we decided to adopt Emil, things went fast from there. We hadn't gotten Emil just yet. We would need to 'pass' an evaluation with the adoption center, which we would do later on.
In the mean time, T couldn't stop talking about Emil. She had taken pictures of him. She was looking at them quite often. It made me smile to see her so happy.
She was so happy about Emil, she wanted to share the news with everyone...
"Baby," I started. "Remember he's not ours yet. We first need to pass this evaluation."
She waved me off. "He's as good as ours."
I chuckled. "Why don't we wait to share him with others until he really is ours?"
She looked at me for a while. I wondered is she knew I was the voice of reason here now...
Before she could reply, the doorbell rang.
"Looks like our company is there," She got up and walked to the front door. She opened the door and smiled. "Hey, get in."
T's friends entered and walked to me, to the living room.
"Hey Leah." They said.
I smiled as way of greeting them.
They sat down and looked at us. T went to sit down next to me.
"So," Charlotte started, it was clear they didn't know why they were here. "What's up?"
I looked at T and saw she had the biggest smile on her face. I couldn't help but smile too. "T wanted to tell you guys something."
T looked at me, she seemed surprised I gave in. She then looked at her friends. "Leah and I have decided to adopt a boy."
T's friends immediately seemed happy.
"His name is Emil," T then took her phone. "This is him." She showed the many pictures she has to them.
While Charlotte and Mary were looking at all of them, Heather quickly looked at me. I wondered what she had to say now.
When T had showed the least picture, she put her phone away and looked at them. "What do you think?"
"He's so cute," Mary said. "He seems really happy too, about the adoption."
"He doesn't know yet," I quickly informed her. "We'll tell him when we know for sure."
Charlotte nodded. "That's the best thing to do, yes. Don't give him false hope... You never know..."
We nodded. T, however, seemed upset when Charlotte said that. I guess she was more afraid than she let on...
"I think he's cute too," Charlotte smiled. "Especially those curls," She looked at us. "I love curly hair."
At that point, Heather frowned. "Cute? He reminds me of a poodle."
T's friends instantly were shocked that Heather said this. They nudged her but she, of course, didn't bother to apologize.

That afternoon, I had therapy with Eva again. As I knew she and Heather were dating, I couldn't help but tell her about what Heather said earlier...
"A poodle?" Eva laughed as she repeated after me.
"Yeah," I sighed while shaking my head. "She had no better way to describe our future adopted son as 'poodle'."
Eva chuckled a bit more.
I looked at her and smiled. It was heart-warming to see someone genuinely like Heather for who she is. She didn't judge Heather's weird description. She laughed at it. She almost expected it. "Can I ask you a question?"
Eva stopped laughing and looked at me. "Sure."
I thought about my words for a bit, as I didn't want to hurt her. "I... What do you like so much about Heather?" I asked, but then realize that sounds bad... "I mean... What attracts you to her?" I tried.
She instantly smiled, as if she was happy to explain it all. "In my profession, you need to be thorough. You need to be clear and you need to be careful with the words you choose. You need to be considerate."
I slowly nodded.
"Heather is the opposite of all those things," She smiled more. "She's a breath of fresh air. She's so unique. She's different in a good way."
I slowly smiled. "She has no filter indeed..."
"She says what she thinks, she'll be honest about everything she thinks, she'll be direct with you," She smiled. "She'll speak from the heart, and that's what I like. You'll know what to expect with her because she'll just say it."
I nodded. "I remember being afraid of that strong personality of hers."
"I know," Her smile disappeared for a bit. "And that makes sense."
"How?"
"Your past, as a bullied child, changed you. I think you've learned to be afraid of what people may say to you or think about you. You've tried to please people in order not to get critized..." She looked away briefly. "And then comes Heather."
I looked down then.
"I understand it's a way of keeping yourself safe from getting hurt," She said, making me nod. "but I hope you do realize that it can be nice and very rewarding to share your true self with others."
I smiled then. "I remember when T and I first started talking. She encouraged me to write about my dreams," I looked down. "I was terrified to share them with others because I was afraid to be critized," I then looked back up at her. "But it's been nothing but amazing. I've met amazing people on Wattpad and I got to theorize with readers about my stories," I smiled then. "On there, I can really be me and people welcome me for it."
Eva smiled then. "And how does that feel, Leah?"
I smiled more. "Wonderful."
