Leah's POV
When T had woken up, two nurses came back immediately to do a quick check-up. They asked routine questions. While T was answering them, she kept glancing at me. I knew she was going to fire all her questions at me when those nurses were gone. And I wasn't looking forward to it...
The nurses determined T was doing well and left to get her something to eat and drink. They would be back shortly.
As soon as they had left the room, my heart beat faster.
"Leah," T said, her voice stern. "What happened?"
I gulped and looked at the door. Where were they? Please come back, save me...
"Leah?"
I started breathing heavier as I realized I wasn't going to be able to avoid T... I gulped and looked at her.
"What happened?" She repeated, saying the words very slowly. By the look on her face, I could tell she knew, for some reason she wanted me to say it out loud.
I gulped. "You lost blood."
She nodded slowly.
"They did some tests to check it."
She nodded again.
I gulped and looked back at the door. How long does it take to get food?!
"Leah."
I looked back at T. Why is she making me say it? Why does she want me to hurt her? Can't the nurses or doctors do it for me? Why does it have to be me?
"What happened?"
I gulped. "It's not good, T."
Instantly, she looked at her belly. She gently went over it. I could tell she was in pain a bit as her face showed it.
"I'm sorry."
She looked back at me. "They took them out?"
There it was... The question I was dreading... I looked back at the door. Food, now!
"They took them out, didn't they?"
I gulped and looked at T. I wanted to look at her when I would break the horrible news to her. It was the least I could do. "Yes," I finally said and, immediately, she looked away. "They both didn't make it."
She looked away, to the window. She wasn't saying anything for a while. I wondered what was going through her mind at this moment. I wished I would know, so I could help.
"I'm sorry, baby."
She looked at me then. She looked me in the eyes before gulping. She started sniffling. "What else did they do?" She sniffled more. "There's something you're not saying."
I gulped and looked down for a bit, trying to calm down but failing. "I'm so sorry," I looked back up at her and saw her eyes were already filled with tears. "You were losing too much blood," I said, sniffling afterward. "They..." I gulped. "They took out..." I looked away, I just couldn't say it...
I heard her cry a bit more. I wondered if she could guess what I wanted to say.
I looked back at her. "They took out your uterus." I finally said.
She then finally broke down crying.
"I'm so sorry, baby," I reached for her hand, wanting to hold it in mine but she wouldn't let me. "Baby?"
"How could you let them do that?!" She yelled out.
I gulped and looked down. "I didn't, I - "
"You had to stop them!"
