Leah's POV

I took a deep breath before taking the handle in my hand and opening the door. Then my jaw dropped.

"T!" I rushed to her. I knelt next to her. "What did you do?" I took some tissues and applied them to her wrist.

T was crying silently, her eyes were red and puffy, it seemed she had been here for a while. She smelled, she looked terrible, it was just a sad sight.

"T," I tried to get her attention while also trying to treat her wrist. "What happened?"

She kept crying, she seemed all over the place. It seemed as if she didn't even hear me.

"T?"

She didn't respond to me, at all. She kept crying while looking everywhere. She wasn't herself.

"Mom!" I yelled as hard as I could. "Mom, bathroom, quick!" While I waited for mom, I took new tissues and put them on her wrist. "T, keep them there," I put her other hand on them. "Keep them there, ok?"

I got up and immediately started a bath, just by the smell of it, I knew she needed a bath. I looked at T again and saw she had dropped her arms to the ground.

I rushed to her. "T, keep it on there," I put her hand on it again but she dropped her hand as soon as I released it. "T, please."

"Leah, what..." Mom finally arrived and seemed lost for words when she saw the scene. I couldn't blame her. "Talia," Mom knelt next to T as well. "What happened?"

"I don't know," I looked at T, who was still crying and in her own world. "I found her like this."

Mom frowned a bit. "Did she do this to herself?"

I slowly nodded before getting up to stop the water, the bath was ready.

"She needs to go to the hospital, we need to make sure she's alright."

"No," I put my arm underneath T's and helped her get up. "Not when she's like this, she needs to relax now."

"How?" Mom looked at what I was doing. "Leah, you can't get her in a bath when she's like that, she'll drown or mess the whole place up."

I sighed. "Then what do I do, mom? She looks awful, she smells awful... I need to do something."

Mom looked around. "Take a washcloth, we'll wash her like that."

Without questioning her, I gave her a washcloth and took one myself too. Together, we started washing T as best as we could. Mom then treated her self-inflicted wound on her wrist while I got T out of her dirty clothes.

"I'll take care of her from here, mom."

"Are you sure?" She asked before looking at T, who was seated in only her bra and underwear.

"Yes," I wrapped my arm around T. "She's my wife, I know how to take care of her."

Mom slowly smiled and nodded. "Call me tomorrow."

"I will," I smiled at her as she got up and left. I then looked at T. "Let's get you to bed." I pulled her up again and walked us to our room. T was still crying but was hanging onto my side and wasn't putting up a fight, so I managed.

I laid her down on the bed and got her out of her bra and underwear, I knew she preferred to sleep naked. And today, more than ever, she needed a good night's rest.

I got out of my clothes as well and wanted to get underneath the sheets but then remembered I had to lock the front door. "I'll be right back, baby."

I hurried downstairs and locked the front door. I also did a check on the house, just in case, before going back to our bedroom.

"I'm back," I said as I closed the door to our room. I then walked to the bed and pulled the sheets over us. "Come here, baby," I pulled her in my arms and held her to my chest. Slowly but surely, T seemed to calm down. "There you go." I kissed her head to relax her even more.

Eventually, the crying stopped. I pulled back a bit to look at her face and saw she was sleeping. I smiled before planting a kiss on her forehead. I then pulled her close again and closed my eyes. Together, we drifted off, even though it wasn't even 5 pm yet...

The next morning, I woke up really early. I guess sleeping at 5 pm prevented me from sleeping in... I didn't mind though, I had much more of my day now. Besides, I needed to go to college today so a bit more time wasn't an unwanted luxury.

I looked at T, who was still asleep in my arms, close to my chest. She hadn't moved, neither had I. It seemed she really needed this comfort she was seeking, and I was more than happy to offer it to her.

I did worry about her though. Seeing her like that yesterday... I had never seen her like that but I wasn't completely shocked. T had told me about her teenage and college years: how she used to harm herself, how she used to starve herself, how she even attempted to take her own life... However, those were all stories she told me, seeing the real deal was a tough pill to swallow. But I was glad I was here for her when she needed me, because that's what marriage is about.

I let out a deep sigh as I thought about the day. She'd have to teach today, would she be able to do that? Would she be able to face others? Would she be able to survive? I didn't want anything to trigger her as I didn't know what triggered her yesterday. I knew I wouldn't stop worrying about her if she'd go to work, she just wasn't able to, in my opinion.

Slowly, I tried to turn on my back to reach for my phone on the nightstand behind me. Luckily, T followed my movements smoothly. She laid on my chest while I laid on my back, my phone in my hand. I went through my contacts and glanced at two: my mom or T's parents. Which one should I reach out to?
Mom had already seen T yesterday, I wouldn't have to explain anything to her. But would she be able to watch T?
T's parents hadn't seen last night's scene but I'm sure they know about T's history of self-harm. They would know what to do, wouldn't they? But would they be gentle with her though?

I sighed as I made my choice: T's parents. I dialed the number and waited.

"Leah?"

"Hello," I paused, looking at T. "I need your help."

"With what? Did something happen?" It's almost as if they knew... Parents must have some supernatural connection with their children.

I sighed. "Something happened with T."

Without wasting further time, they simply replied: "We're on our way."
