Leah's POV
I finished dressing up and looked at myself in the mirror. I double-checked everything before nodding and going downstairs.
As I got downstairs, I heard the boys at the tv and T in the kitchen. She was probably making dinner for them.
I walked to the kitchen and looked at her, flying around the kitchen, trying to make a dish. I could've easily helped her out but decided not to. I wasn't happy with her right now. After my conversation with Heather, I confronted T. Instead of trying to devise an excuse, she just said nothing. She didn't deny anything, just nothing. So, I stopped trying to understand her.
"I'm going to head off," I said, not really waiting for her response. "I don't know when I'll be back."
"Ok." She simply said. She wouldn't even turn around and face me...
I sighed, shook my head, and went to my boys. I smiled at them as they were watching cartoons. "Mama is going to leave now," I said, gaining their attention immediately. "I'll be back later tonight."
"Ok." Emil said and went back to his cartoons.
Jin, however, seemed more worried. "When will you be back?"
"Later tonight," I shrugged. "I don't know when exactly."
It was clear my answer didn't put him at ease. He looked worried.
Emil noticed. "Tata is here," He said. "And I am too."
Jin nodded before looking at me. "Will you say goodnight?"
I smiled at him. "I'll try," I breathed out. "But I might not make it."
Emil nodded and looked at Jin. "It's just for tonight."
Jin looked at Emil and nodded, seemingly getting at ease thanks to his brother.
Emil looked at me and smiled.
I smiled too, mouthing a 'thank you' to him before getting up. "Enjoy your cartoons."
I walked to the front door and smiled when I saw a car waiting at the side of the road. I quickly ran to the car before getting inside. "Thanks for picking me up, C."
Charlotte smiled at me. "My pleasure."

"Does anyone else want another drink?" Eva asked, already getting up.
Heather immediately stopped her and had Eva sit back down. She got up instead, looking around the table. "What can I get you?"
Charlotte smiled. "A glass of water please."
"Water?" Heather stuck out her tongue in disgust.
"I have to drive us both home," Charlotte said, motioning to me and herself. "So yes, water."
"Responsible." Eva complimented her.
Charlotte put up her thumb.
Heather rolled her eyes before looking at me. "So what fun thing can I get you?"
"Just a glass of soda is fine."
"Soda?" Heather seemed really disappointed.
I nodded.
Eva looked at Heather. "Will you be alright or shall I get the drinks?"
"I'll be alright." She said and left for the kitchen.
"It's clear who's in charge here." Charlotte chuckled.
Eva chuckled too.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom." I said before getting up and leaving the dining room. I walked upstairs and went to their bathroom.
When I was done, I made my way back but I stopped when I saw the baby room. I smiled at the sight of it. It was really a beautiful room, for their first child, for their little angel. I could tell how this baby would grow up in a warm and loving environment.
"Hey."
I looked to my left and saw Heather. "Hi."
She looked at the baby's room too. "It's looking good, isn't it?"
"It looks perfect."
I could see how proud she was. Proud of this room, proud of her family, proud to welcome a baby. A completely different Heather than a few days ago.
We stood there, in silence, for a while. I wondered what exactly was happening here. Were we going to stand here for a while? If so, why? And what was she doing up here? She should be fixing our drinks...
"I understand her," She suddenly said. She looked at me, as I was already looking at her. "T," She clarified. "I understand her."
I sighed and looked away. "I don't."
She didn't respond immediately. I could feel her stare on me though.
"I don't know what it is about this topic but it completely changes her demeanor," I paused for a bit. "I understand that it's tough seeing as what she went through," I sighed deeply. "But I went through the same thing."
"Yes, you did."
I looked at her. "It's still hard for me too but I can't let the pain take over from the happiness I feel for you and Eva."
She smiled a bit.
"T would rather sit at home alone than be here and celebrate alongside you," I turned my body towards Heather. "Her best friend."
She nodded. "It's ok."
"Is it?" I looked her in the eyes. "Because I don't know if it's ok. You two have been friends forever. You've been there for her and supported her when she went through those difficult times. You've celebrated alongside her. But she won't return the favor," I gulped. "So is it really ok?"
I could tell that my rant made her think. It certainly wasn't my plan to make Heather angry or upset with T. But I didn't want her to justify everything T was doing right now.
She looked at me. "She'll come around."
I admired Heather's positivity, which she didn't have before. But I really had no confidence in that. I honestly feared that T would avoid Heather and Eva when the baby is born.
She placed her hand on my shoulder. "She'll come around," She showed me a small smile. "Just be patient with her."
I nodded.
"Let's go back downstairs," She smiled more. "Eva got us a great dessert."
At this, my interest peaked. "What's for dessert?"
"Come and find out." She said as she walked back downstairs.

I waved Charlotte goodbye as she left with her car. I smiled until she was out of sight. I sighed before going to the front door and opening it.
I expected to maybe see T at the tv but there was no sound, not a single noise. I frowned. Maybe she's in bed already.
I checked all the doors before going upstairs too. I slowly walked past the kids' bedroom to not wake them before going to our bedroom. But T wasn't there.
"Baby?" I looked around. "Baby?"
Suddenly I felt uneasy. My heart started beating faster. I was suddenly aware that something could be wrong. "Baby?" I tried, though my voice was softer.
I gulped and left the room. I immediately went to the one place I feared she might be: the bathroom. I opened the door, without knocking and saw her on the ground. My jaw dropped as my heart stopped. "Baby..."
I immediately knelt with her and looked at her arm. "Baby," I said barely above a whisper. I looked at her. "What have you done?"
She didn't look at me. She wasn't crying but I could tell she had been crying a lot, as her eyes were red and puffy.
I gulped and realized all of this misery had started again...
