Leah's POV

"Will you be gone all day?"

I stopped chewing my cereal and looked up at T. She had put her toast down as well and had given me all her attention. It was the first time today we made eye contact... "I don't know."

She nodded and looked down again.

I looked down too. Something changed, since last night. I guess me finally saying those words changed something. There was a certain distance between us.

I finished my breakfast after several minutes and cleared my side of the table. I then walked to the living room where I started collecting board games to take with me to my friends. Once I had them all, I started packing them all.

"Here," T suddenly appeared. "Use this bag, it's bigger."

I looked at the bag. "I'm fine." I said and continued packing the bag I had chosen.

In the corner of my eye, I saw T slowly retreating with the bag she had found for me. She disappeared out of my sight.

When I was done packing the bag, I walked to the front door and put on my shoes and jacket. I then took the car keys and my phone.

"When will you be back?"

I looked behind me and saw T standing there. She seemed upset almost. She was looking at me but wasn't really looking at me. I wondered if she was focussing on something behind me to make it seem as if she was looking at me. "I don't know." I said and turned back around to take the bag off the ground.

"Shall I drive you?"

I looked back at her. "No, I'm fine on my own."

She looked down then.

I opened the front door, ready to leave. I then felt a pain in my heart. It was a moment like in the movies, where your conscience is talking to you. Suddenly, I felt bad for T. I sighed and looked at her. She seemed so sad. "I'll text you when I leave their house, ok?"

She looked at me then. She slowly nodded. "Thank you."

I nodded before leaving.

When my friends and I get together, we usually play board games while talking about things in our lives. Since high school ended, we didn't see each other as often as we did back then. So we usually had a lot of catching up to do.

"So nothing happened between you two?" Kara asked Cam.

Cam shook her head. "Straight..." She said to which we all laughed. Cam's stories usually consisted of her adventures with girls. She was trying to date other girls but unfortunately managed to only pick out the straight girls...

"I'm so happy I found my babe." Kevin said to which I nodded.

Then they looked at me. "So how are you and Talia doing?"

I looked at them and saw they were all smiling at me, clearly eager to hear about it. Cam, on the other hand, wasn't that eager. She knew about the situation I was in. She knew how I felt about it. She understood it.

"Well..." I tried making nice sentences in my mind, to explain to them the situation I was in. Then it occurred to me that these were my friends and I could just be my clumsy self. "T is pregnant with twins and I hate it."

They all sat there with their jaws dropped. Even Cam. She knew T was pregnant, but she didn't know about the twins yet.

I slowly nodded and looked down. "I should be happy but I can't bring myself to," I sighed deeply. "It doesn't feel right to me."

"Leah," Sally said. She seemed to look for the right words too. "We want to congratulate you but..." She looked at our friends, who all nodded. "How do you deal with all of this?"

I gulped. "I don't know," I looked down. "I guess I just do."

They all got up to hug me and, at that moment, that meant more to me than words ever could.

Around 6 pm, we'd usually go back home. I told Cam I could bring her home by car, which she liked. On our way over, we drove past my house. Cam suggested we could hang out some more at my house, which I agreed to.

"Here you go," I said as I opened the front door to let her in. "Make yourself at home."

"Thanks," She walked to the couch and sat down on it. "It's so nice here."

I smiled weakly before taking a seat too.

"Leah," She leaned forward. "If you don't like this situation..." She then suddenly stopped talking and looked around. "Is Talia home?"

I shook my head. "She texted me she would be home later."

She nodded. "Well, if you don't like this situation, I think you should just tell her."

"Maybe..."

"You should," She scooted closer. "Talia should know how you truly feel about the pregnancy."

"What's the use though?" I sighed deeply. "This won't end well: she either loses the babies or we have a set of twins in the house..." I sighed again. "Sometimes I wish we would never have thought about children."

"You should tell her this."

I shrugged.

"Why wouldn't you tell her how you feel?"

I looked at Cam. "What do I tell her?" I paused a bit. "Oh T, by the way, I don't want the twins. Can you please get rid of them?"

She chuckled a bit. "Maybe that's a bit much..."

"You think?" I said sarcastically.

"Just start by talking about your feelings."

I sighed. "I just don't feel like talking to her," I looked away a bit. "Every time I tried explaining to her how I felt, she interrupted me or she doesn't listen," I looked back at Cam then. "At some point, I stopped trying."

She looked apologetic at me then. "So what will you do then?"

"For now? Nothing," I shrugged. "As I said, there's nothing I can do."

"You can talk to her."

"She won't listen."

She shook her head. "Try again."

I simply shrugged.

Cam stayed about half an hour before taking off. I walked her to the front door. "Thanks for the talk, Cam."

She smiled at me. "Talking does help, Leah," She then showed me a look. "Try this with your wife too."

I shrugged.

"Goodnight, Leah."

"Goodnight, Cam," I said and watched her go to her house. I kept looking out the door until she was out of sight. I then closed the door, turned around, and was startled when T suddenly stood there. "T, you scared me."

She looked at me, dead in the eyes. "When were you going to tell me you hate our twins?"
