Leah's POV

"And then she asked if I wanted to be their baby's godmother." I said to T as we were cleaning up after dinner.

"Wow," T did her best to sound happy for me, but I could tell she wasn't thrilled. "It's good you two talked again." Again, she didn't seem that happy about that either.

I put everything aside and looked at her. She was clearly trying to avoid my eyes as she tried to find things to do. "Baby," I started, but she kept moving around. I sighed. "I'm sure Heather will ask you."

She looked at me then. "She doesn't have to," She shrugged it off. "She has many friends and family members she can ask."

I raised my eyebrows a bit. "You've been her best friend for ages, taking all her crap for ages," I nodded. "I think you've earned it."

She chuckled.

"Besides," I rolled my eyes. "Who else can she ask?"

T stopped chuckling and looked away. "I know she'd ask me first," She sighed deeply. She was hugging herself, comforting herself. "I just don't know if I'd be the right choice."

I raised my eyebrows again. "Why would you even doubt that? Baby, we've got two sons, they're doing wonderfully," I showed her a smile. "I'm sure she'll ask you soon."

"Yeah," She said but kept looking away. Somehow, she didn't seem that interested... "Shall we watch some tv?"

"Sure."

I loved spending my evenings on the couch, cuddled up in T's arms. My biggest problem with that was getting out of that comfortable place to go to bed. Even when T would try to snatch her arms back, I'd give her a good fight. Eventually, it was just pointless though.

We got to our room and got ready for bed. While I got changed fast, T often was slower. She always seemed so busy to get ready to sleep, I found it odd.

As she was in the bathroom, I used this time to get online on Wattpad. I smiled as I saw the comments and private messages. I loved getting and seeing those, but I had to admit, I have less time to invest in them. Sometimes I'd love to go back in time and have all the time in the world to really focus on what I love, on what I loved doing the most.

"Ready," T said as she got in bed next to me. She looked at my phone. "Wattpad?"

I smiled at her correctly guessing what I was doing. I looked at her. "Good guess."

She smiled. "More comments?"

I nodded.

She scooted closer to me. "Which story?" She looked at my phone. "Is it a chapter I wrote?"

I nudged her. "Look at you, getting all the fame."

She chuckled. "I bet people notice when I write," She looked at me. "Don't they?"

I sighed and shook my head. "Yeah, they do," I took my phone and got out of the app. "Sometimes."

She chuckled more.

I put my phone away but before I was able to turn to face T, my phone vibrated. I reached for it and noticed a text from Eva. I smiled.

"Who is it?" T asked, I could sense she was getting jealous immediately.

I looked at her. And truly, her face spoke volumes. "Eva," I simply said. "She wanted to let me know how happy she is I want to be godmother."

She nodded and looked away, instantly her happy mood had vanished.

"Baby," I put my phone down, before I even replied to Eva. "What's wrong?" I frowned a bit. "I told you, Heather will ask you, I'm sure of that."

"I know."

"All you have to do, is be - "

"I know."

I frowned more. "I'm just trying to cheer you up."

She looked at me for a brief moment before sighing deeply. "I know," She gulped. "I just don't need it."

"Ok," I looked away, I was lost... "I'll stop bringing it up."

She nodded.

"I'll reply to Eva and then we can go to bed, ok?"

She nodded but didn't wait for me. She immediately settled in the sheets and got comfortable. I sighed as I saw that. Sometimes I wished she'd just talk to me when she's upset instead of keeping me out.

"There," I said, put my phone away, and looked at T. She seemed all settled and didn't look at me anymore. I sighed yet again before getting underneath the sheets as well. "Goodnight." I said softly, I didn't get a response back...

All day I kept thinking about T, about the way she was dismissing everything else, and I hated it. I could write characters as difficult as her and dissect them all. But with T, I couldn't get to the bottom of it. I guess I needed my characters to dissect her for me.

As the schooldays got to an end, I walked to T's school. I knew she was getting the boys and I just had to wait.

"Leah," Heather waved at me as she exited the building. She walked to me, she seemed visibly much happier than before. "Hi."

I smiled. "Hi."

"So I heard you accepted Eva's invitation to become the godmother of our child."

I nodded. "It'd be an honor," I smiled but couldn't help to think out loud: "I was actually surprised you let her ask me... You didn't like me very much at first."

She waved me off. "You've got balls for fighting for Talia," She smiled. "I admire that, and I want a strong woman to be in the life of my child."

I looked away, my cheeks reddening like crazy.

"Too bad Talia declined."

I instantly looked at her. "What?"

She shrugged. "I guess it's still too hard for her?" She shrugged again.

"You asked T too?"

She nodded. "Of course, she's my best friend," She smiled. "I asked her first."

I blinked a few times and looked away. Why did T keep quiet about that?

"Did she not tell you?"

I looked at her and shook my head. "She's been upset since Eva asked me so I tried comforting her by telling her you'll ask her," I huffed and shook my head again. "But she declined," I licked my lips. "I don't get her."

Heather shrugged too. "It's alright, I've asked Charlotte."

I looked at Heather and saw she was smiling. I didn't want to ruin her mood, I didn't want to ruin these moments for her. I wanted to be the supportive friend she lacked, because of T... "Charlotte is a good choice."

She nodded, seemingly happy about her second choice. "She is," She breathed out. "Though I sometimes can't help but feel upset Talia declined."

I nodded. "I'm sorry."

She looked at me before motioning to me it was alright. "Eva and I are inviting you and Charlotte for dinner," She smiled a big smile. "To thank you guys for being the godmothers."

"Sounds great," I nodded. "Count me in."

She smiled before looking behind me. "I'll better let you get to your family."

I followed her gaze and saw T arrive with the boys. While T simply looked at us, the boys both waved at us.

I smiled and waved back at them before looking at Heather. "I'll see you for that dinner."

She nodded.
