Talia's POV

"And then we did it." I gulped as I finished the story of last night's events. I looked up at Eva, who was smiling at me. And I couldn't help but smile back.

"That's good," She nodded. "I'm happy for you two."

I smiled and looked down. After last night, I felt stronger, I felt supported, I felt loved, I felt... more whole again. "Leah has been so patient with me," I paused, suddenly the realization hit me even more of how the last couple of months were for us. But, more particularly, for Leah. "When we met, she needed support and love," I looked back up at Eva. "And now I need support and love."

"And that's ok," She concluded. "A relationship is about giving and taking love."

I nodded, agreeing with her. "I guess I just didn't want to ruin our relationship."

"Just because you struggled with the past, doesn't mean you're ruining your relationship," She scooted closer to me. "For what it's worth, I think it has strengthened your relationship."

"Do you really think so?"

She nodded. "You both adapted wonderfully to one another. You've learned that it's ok to fall back and lean onto your wife," She said, causing me to nod. "And Leah has matured so much and has been a rock for you and your sons."

I smiled and nodded. "She has been, yes."

Eva smiled.

"A while back, I told her she should write a second book about our lives," I said. I didn't know why I suddenly mentioned this to her. "She was hesitant to portray our marriage as it has been since the last book," I looked at Eva. "But what you said just now makes me realize that we have to write it precisely for the reasons you've mentioned."

She frowned a bit. "And with what goal?"

"To show that marriage isn't always happiness and sunshine," I said, gaining a nod from her. "Bad things happen, and it's how you deal with them that's important."

"True."

I nodded, eager to present the idea to Leah once more. "I know she had started the second book but she left out so much about the bad things," I gulped. "I think I want to fill those gaps with my own experience."

Suddenly she seemed concerned. "Maybe you should give yourself some time to process this yourself before doing that."

"No," I said, I was determined. "I think writing about those moments, about my feelings, about my thoughts, I think that will help me."

She slowly nodded.

"I think, I..." I gulped. "I think I want this so I can show Leah just how I experienced these moments."

She nodded again. "That sounds like a plan."

I nodded.

She looked at the time, and I knew she was going to end our session here today. She was closing her notebook, seemingly getting ready to move on.

"I know our time's up for today," I said, making her look at me. "But I have to say something, if you let me."

She nodded, allowing me to speak my mind. I think she was intrigued.

I gulped and licked my lips. "I think it's no surprise to you when I say that I didn't like you the first time we met, or even when you got your daughter," I said, seeing her look away briefly. "I saw you as this woman who thought they knew my best friend and wife better than I did," I looked down. "I just want to say that I'm sorry for being so harsh on you. You've been so kind for helping me, and I really think you're an amazing person."

Eva smiled, she looked down and I could tell she was blushing. "Thank you for saying that," She looked back up at me. "I admit it was difficult to help your wife and be married to your best friend, knowing you didn't like me," She said, making me look down briefly. "But I'm happy we were able to put our differences aside and start over."

I nodded. "As friends."

She smiled. "As really good friends."

I smiled too. "As best friends."

"Oh, I didn't know this was a competition." She chuckled.

I chuckled too.

_________________________

I opened the front door and immediately heard the laughter of my two sons, followed by Leah telling them I was home. And I realized in that moment just how lucky I was to come home to this. To my family.

I closed the door and knelt with my arms wide open to welcome my sons. I hugged them tightly, closing my eyes, as I held them closely. I opened my eyes and saw Leah standing there, smiling at us.

"Why don't you let tata talk a bit to mama?" I said to our sons. They nodded and left, off to one of their toys. I got up and opened my arms to hug Leah. "How was your day?" I asked as I let go of her.

"Good," She smiled at me as I was getting out of my shoes and jacket. "How was therapy?"

"Good," I nodded and looked at her. "Really good."

She smiled.

"Eva and I are best friends now."

She looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I chuckled. "Your face," I walked to the kitchen, and saw Leah had already started making dinner. "It smells good here."

"Thanks," She walked to the stove and continued. I decided to let her do her thing, as I knew she loved cooking and could be a disaster if you did something different than her. "So best friends?"

I chuckled. "Why does that bother you so much?"

"It doesn't bother me," She turned around and looked at me. "I'm just... Surprised."

I nodded.

"But happy too," She smiled. "I'm happy you're doing well in general."

I smiled and thought back at my conversation with Eva. "Have you been writing lately?"

"Yeah," She crossed her arms. "Why?"

I licked my lips. "I was wondering if you were still writing our story, the second one I mean."

She nodded. "I'm not sure whether I will post it though."

"Can I help?"

She was taken aback, surprised that I wanted to help yet again. "But baby, there are difficult moments - "

"I know," I gulped. "That's why I want to help," I looked down. "I think it would help me to write down how I experienced it."

She got silent for a bit. I was a bit worried and looked up at her, only to see her look away, seemingly deep in thought. "I don't know," She concluded. "I don't think I'm going to post it anyway."

I walked to her and took her hands in mine. "That doesn't matter to me," I gulped. "I just want to write about it, with you," I looked down at our hands, and I squeezed hers gently. I then looked back up at her. "I really think this could help me."

I could see in her eyes how she was so hesitant about all of this. But instead of fighting me on this, she nodded.

I smiled and nodded. "Thank you."
