Leah's POV
After my day at college, I went home by train. I loved the train ride. It was the only time of the day that was really for me. I didn't have to do anything, I could just sit back and relax. I usually used this time to think.
I thought back at the message T had sent me during lunch: "I did the pregnancy test... We're pregnant!"
I sighed as I thought about it. T was pregnant. She was carrying the child. I should be happy and, in a way, I was. But it was really difficult for me to see that child as mine. To me, T was carrying the child of some random guy... I knew I was looking too much into it, but it was stronger than myself.
I arrived at the train station and got off the train. Usually, I'd go home by car. But since T is pregnant, she's using the car. She had asked me if she needed to come to pick me up. I declined. I figured I could use the walk home to think.
I got out of the train station and stopped when I saw Heather. I frowned a bit and walked to her. "What are you doing here?"
"Good evening to you too, psycho."
I rolled my eyes at that.
She sighed. "Talia is pregnant."
I nodded slowly. "I know that, but how do you know?"
"I spotted the pregnancy test," She sighed. "I'm worried, Leah."
At that moment, I sensed her worries. She rarely used my name anymore. I knew that when she did call me by my name, she was being really serious. "Why?"
She looked away.
I looked around, trying to find a place where we could talk in a better way. "Let's go to that cafe to talk." I said while pointing to the cafe across the train station.
Heather looked at it before shaking her head. "Let's go to my car." She then walked away, she clearly already decided she wanted that option.
We arrived at her car, which was parked nearby, and got in. In there, it was so quiet. The outdoor noises and regular town noises were all gone. It was just me and her now.
I looked at her. "Why are you worried?"
She was looking outside, her arm was leaning against the car door. She was resting her head on her hand. "I don't know if a pregnancy is a good thing for her," She sighed. "She becomes someone completely different."
I looked away when she said that. I looked outside too then, thinking about what she said. "I know," I simply replied. I could feel she was staring at me now, as if she was surprised I agreed with her. "But this is her biggest wish," I paused. "She wants this so badly," I then looked at her. "I don't want to be the one to stop her."
She was looking at me, it almost felt as if she was looking for something. As if she thought I was keeping something from her.
I looked back outside the car. "She would've gotten pregnant again," I paused. "I had a choice: let her do it by herself or experience it with her."
"But that's not how it should be," She sighed deeply. "I don't like the person she becomes when it comes to pregnancies and babies," She looked at me again. "Do you?"
I shrugged. "It doesn't matter what I think."
"It does," She said, gaining my attention. "This is your life too, you've got the right to have a say in this."
I looked away.
"Leah," She once again used my name, once again emphasizing the fact of how serious this conversation was. "I'm happy for you and Talia, I really am, but I'm worried about it. About her."
