Talia's POV
"Sugar, flour, eggs, butter," I checked all the ingredients off. I nodded before looking at Emil. "Ok, chef, we've got everything for the birthday cake."
Emil nodded. The chef's hat, which was way too big for his tiny head, was shaking alongside his head moves. "First step?"
I read the recipe out loud. I then looked at him. "So do you mix the butter with sugar or shall I do it?"
He looked at the butter and sugar in the bowl. He then looked at the mixer. "Me, me, me!" He jumped excitedly.
I chuckled and pulled him up. "Be careful, it's a dangerous machine," I plugged it in and handed it to him while maintaining a good grip on it. "Ready?"
He looked at me and nodded before looking back at the mixer.
I smiled and started it.
I could tell Emil was surprised at the force this machine had. Though he wasn't scared or worried about it, he seemed to face it head on.
"Ok," I said after the butter and sugar were mixed enough. "Now we add the eggs."
He clapped. "Me, me, me!"
"Ok, nounours, look carefully at how tata is doing it," I said and showed him how to do it. "Did you see?"
He looked at me and nodded. "Me, me, me!"
I smiled and handed him an egg. "Careful."
As any child would, he smashed the egg and most of it was lost. "Oh oh." He looked at me, showing how sorry he was for ruining it.
I took another egg. "Look carefully," I once again showed him how to do it. "Got it?"
He nodded and took an egg. This time though, he was clearly more gentle with the egg. He carefully cracked it and dropped it into the batter. Alongside some eggshells. "Oh oh."
I chuckled at his cuteness. I tried picking out the shells and thankfully, it worked. "I'll do the last one, ok?"
He nodded and watched carefully as I did it.
"Good, the next step is the flour," I took the flour, which I had already weighed to the right amount. "Carefully drop it in."
Emil smiled and took the bowl of flour and dropped it all in, resulting in some of it going up in the air. "Oh oh."
I huffed as I had flour in my face and hair. "I told you to be careful, nounours."
He shrugged and looked at the batter. He started mixing it some more. "Done?" He asked after some time.
I looked at it. "It looks nice," I then took the chocolate chips. "Now we add these."
Emil licked his lips. "Me, me, me!"
I chuckled and handed it to him.
Once again, he just dropped everything in at once without taking it easy. He mixed it some more. He then looked at me, proud of his work. "We done?"
I looked at it. "It looks good," I nodded. "Now we put it in the oven."

Leah's POV
Today was Jin's birthday. T and I had arranged this afternoon for him. She and Emil were at home, preparing everything for a birthday party.
They'd even bake a cake. A chocolate chip cake, as it's Jin's favorite. They'd also decorate the living room a bit and, of course, display the presents.
