Leah's POV
We have to wait and listen. I heard Heather's words echo inside my head, over and over again. I tried acting normal toward T, I tried to pretend as if nothing had happened. But it felt wrong, somehow. I didn't want T to think her scream for help wasn't just something I'd forget. I wanted her to know I saw her, I heard her.
We were having breakfast. I was eating cereal while T was having toast with chocolate paste. Whilst we were eating, nothing was said.
I couldn't help but look at her every once in a while. I wondered what she was thinking right now. Would she be in pain right now? Would she wonder about me? Would she want to go out and do things together, or maybe she'd want to stay indoors...
I swallowed the food and put my spoon down, this got T's attention. "So I was thinking of taking the boys outside."
She looked at me.
"It's a beautiful day today," I added, as if I hadn't made myself clear. "There's this forest where there's also a playground for kids," I shrugged. "I thought maybe the kids would like that."
She swallowed her food and looked away briefly before looking at me. "Sounds fun."
I nodded. "Why don't you join us?" I forced a small smile. "We can all go, like a family trip."
Even though I knew she must be deeply upset, she smiled at me. "I'd like that."
I nodded. "I'll go get the kids," I said and got up. I looked at my breakfast, which wasn't done, but put it aside anyway. "I'll hurry." I said and then realized that could sound weird. So, instead, I rushed upstairs.

"Where we go?" Emil asked as he looked through the windows of the car.
"We're going to the forest, tiger." I smiled at him.
"Forest?" He looked at Jin, it was clear he was excited. "When are we there?"
I smiled more and looked at T. "How long, baby?"
It took her a while before she looked at me. Somehow it seemed she wasn't sure how to respond to me. Was she upset with me? "Uhm," She looked around. "About 15 minutes, I think."
I nodded before looking at Emil. "You heard it, tiger. You'll have to wait a bit."
He pouted.
"We can play," Jin suddenly said. "And look at nature."
"We can," I smiled at him. "It's a big forest."
Jin seemed happy. "I want to see a butterfly."
"Butterfly?" Emil seemed confused at Jin's interest. "I want to play!" He clapped his hands.
"We can do both."
They smiled.
"How about we play a game?" I suggest.
"Play, play, play!" The boys said simultaneously.
"I spy with my little eye something red." I said.
The boys immediately looked around, inside and outside the car.
While they were looking around, I looked at T and noticed she seemed rather tired. It almost seemed as if she was worn down. Perhaps it cost her a lot of energy to keep up appearances for our boys...
Slowly, I reached for her hand and held it in mine briefly. As she looked up at me, I showed her a small smile.
She smiled briefly before looking back in front of her and pulling her hand back. We have to wait and listen. I sighed as I heard Heather's words again.
"Car!" Emil exclaimed.
"Nope," I smiled and crossed my arms. "You'll never find it."
"Bird!" Emil shouted again.
I shook my head.
"House!" He tried again.
I shook my head, time and time again. He kept guessing, but was wrong every time.
"Blood."
I looked at Jin as he said that word. "What?" I said softly, barely above a whisper. Just hearing that word, it made me worried all over.
Jin pointed at what he saw as red, as blood.
I followed his gaze and gulped when I saw him point at the bandaid on T's wrist.
"Blood." He repeated.
I was lost for words. The fact he understood this, the meaning of that bandaid. It both impressed and upset me greatly.
Emil looked at T's bandaid but it was clear he didn't get it. Thankfully, he didn't get it.
T was visibly uncomfortable. She was trying to hide her wrist even more and I could tell this wasn't going to end well.
"Nope," I said, trying to keep the game going. "You'll never get it."
The boys were back to looking around, going back to the game. But T and myself, we were once again faced with what had happened in the bathroom.

"I'm the king!" Emil exclaimed as he had climbed to the top of the playground's tower. He put his arms in the air, indicating he had won over the leadership.
Jin reached the top too and looked around. He then, as we were used of him, clapped for Emil.
I was seated on a bench nearby and smiled at them. It was so lovely to see them play together. But my eyes easily found their way to T. She had wandered off. I was really worried about her, but how did I make that clear to her without startling her?
I got up and walked to her. "Hey," I said, gaining her attention. "Are you coming to meet the new king of the playground?" I smiled.
She looked behind me, to the boys, before looking at me. "I'll let them have their moment."
As that was not the answer I wanted, I reached for her hand and held it in mine. "I'm happy you decided to join us."
She looked at our joint hands before looking at me. I could tell she was surprised I reached for her hand with the scarred wrist. "I'm happy about that too."
I nodded before looking back at the boys. "They will be exhausted when we get back home," I looked back at her. "We can have an evening to ourselves."
Somehow that thought seemed to worry her a bit.
"We can watch a movie." I suggested.
She looked down for a while, a long while. She frowned before looking at me. "I've written down my thoughts," She gulped, it was clear it was hard for her to talk about this. "I'd..." She gulped again. "I..." She looked down again.
I reached for her other hand, also holding it in mine.
She looked at that gesture before looking at me again. She gulped. "I want you to read them."
I nodded. "We'll do that."
She nodded and I could finally see she felt heard.
