Leah's POV

I was looking at the clock, seeing the time tick by. I never really noticed just how slow and fast at the same time, time was going. I guess it went as fast as you wanted it to go...

"Leah?"

I followed and watched the time tick by. Tick, tick, tick...

"Leah?"

I didn't blink either, time seemed to be going faster if I didn't.

"Psycho!"

I blinked and looked up front. Heather was looking at me, her arms crossed. "What?" I asked, kind of sounding annoyed.

She gave me a look. "She'll come," She moved the cup of tea closer to me. "Just relax."

I sighed but took the cup of tea. "I know," I took a sip. "But why is it taking so long?" I glanced at the clock again. "Shouldn't she be here already?"

Now it was Heather's turn to look at the clock. She shrugged. "Usually, yeah," She took a sip of her cup of coffee. "But it can take longer too."

I sighed and looked away, at nothing in particular.

"I thought Talia was doing better anyway," She scooted closer to me. "So why are you so worried about the therapy taking longer? I think that's a good thing."

I looked at Heather, many thoughts crossed my mind. "I just want things to be ok again."

She nodded, seemingly understanding me. "It will be ok," She reached for my hand, putting hers over mine. "It will."

I nodded but couldn't help but sigh.

"If anyone can help Talia, it's my wife." She said, a proud smile on her face.

I smiled at her. I was truly happy for her. "That's true," I nodded. "Eva is amazing."

Heather nodded.

Suddenly we heard cries coming from the baby. Heather looked upstairs. "I'll be right back." She said, put her cup down, got up, and left.

I was left with my cup of tea, and my many thoughts. I sighed.

"Mama, mama," Emil came running to me. He seemed excited. "Come."

I looked at him. "What is it, tiger?"

"Come," He motioned me to follow him. "We made something." Without waiting for me, he ran away.

I put my cup of tea down and got up. I left the living room and walked to the kitchen, where the boys had been drawing. It was a secret, they'd say. They had been working on it all morning, so I was actually really curious to see what they had made.

I arrived in the kitchen and saw Emil motioning me to come closer. Jin was seated at the table, where they had probably worked at.

I walked to the table. "I'm here."

Emil looked at Jin, allowing him to speak up.
Jin looked at me. "We made a drawing." He said the obvious, but then again he was Jin...

I showed him a small smile. "What kind of drawing?"

Jin looked at Emil, clearly expecting him to go on. But when Emil shook his head, Jin knew he could tell me everything. Jin looked at me. "This," He turned the drawing around, so I could see what they had made. "For tata."

I looked at it. Immediately, I smiled.

"This is us," Emil started explaining, he couldn't contain himself... "And this is you, and tata," He pointed at everything in their drawing. "And this is our home," He looked at me. "For when she comes back."

I smiled more. "Tata will love that."

The boys smiled at me.

"We also made this," Emil said and took something off the ground. It was a huge piece of paper with the words 'Welcome home'.

I smiled more. "That's really nice."

Emil smiled at Jin, who then smiled too.

"Well done," I leaned down and kissed them both on the cheeks. "Tata will love this."

"Can we hang that when she comes home?" Emil asked, referring to his big sign.

"Of course," I looked at it again, I just couldn't help but smile. "Absolutely."

Suddenly the boys looked behind me, and their faces changed.
I frowned and turned around as well, my jaw dropped. "T?"

T smiled at me, then at the boys.

Emil got up, and held up the big sign. He struggled though and it wasn't quiet clear what was written on it.
Jin got up and helped him, showing the sign to T.

T looked at it and smiled, I could tell though that behind that smile was still a lot of pain. "That's so beautiful."

The boys smiled.

I looked from the boys at T, I just couldn't believe she was here. I saw Eva behind her, she nodded at me, followed by a smile, and I knew she had this covered.

The boys dropped the sign and walked to T, hesitantly but eager to finally hug their tata.
T welcomed them by kneeling down and opening her arms for them. The boys immediately hugged her and I could tell they all needed that.

Eva used this opportunity to walk to me. "I'll explain later." She whispered.

I nodded but was a bit upset I had to wait for an explanation.

_______________________

After the initial surprise and shock, we all sat down on the couches in the living room. Eva had served us drinks: soda for me and Eva, a glass of water for T, and wine for Heather.
The boys had gotten a glass of orange juice, and went back to drawing. They wanted to make more drawings for T.

"It's good to see you," Heather said to T. I could tell Heather had missed her best friend, after all, it had been several weeks since they last really spoke. Since the birth of their child, Hannah. "Really good," She looked down briefly. "I've missed you, a lot." She said softer, as if she was ashamed to admit it.

T smiled a bit, seemingly having a hard time being here and talking about all of this. "I've missed you too," She looked down. She then looked at me, at my hand, and reached for my hand, holding it in hers. She then looked up at Heather. "I'm sorry I wasn't..." She trailed off, I felt her squeeze my hand, then I realized she was looking for support. I scooted closer to her, and immediately felt how the tension in her body slowly lessened. "I'm sorry I wasn't there," She managed to say. "For the birth."

Heather looked away briefly.

"That was an important moment for you, I should've been there," T went on. She then looked at me. "I should've been there for you too."

I smiled a bit and took her hand up to my lips, kissing it. Slowly I got even closer to T, leaning onto her. I sighed as I welcomed the familiar feeling of home. "I've missed this."

Suddenly T pulled her hand back. I looked at her, as I thought I overstepped her boundaries. But when I saw she put her arm around me, to pull me closer to her, I smiled.
She smiled at me, kissing my head. "Me too." She whispered as she kissed my head.

We spent the entire afternoon together, talking and laughing, enjoying our time as friends. I enjoyed and cherished every second of being in T's embrace, as my heart finally filled up with the love it missed for so many weeks.

Unfortunately, T had to go back to the center. But I knew now that time would heal her and would make her stronger. And I'd wait. I'd wait forever for her. Because she's my home.
