Leah's POV

T stayed for dinner. Afterward, she and I went to the hallway. T was ready to leave, however, I invited her to stay over. I could tell she was a bit unsure about what to say to that invitation. Eventually, she decided to not stay the night. She did, however, invite me to a nice dinner the next day.

I waved her goodbye and closed the front door again. I then walked to mom, she was seated at the dining table. "She left." I said.

Mom nodded, she seemed deep in thoughts though.

"Mom?" I went to sit down at the table too. "Is everything alright?"

She looked at me. "Is everything fine again between you two?"

I shrugged at first but then nodded. "Yeah," I nodded more. "Yes, it is," I looked at her then. "We both needed time to process this past period but I think we're good now."

Mom smiled a bit though she didn't seem that happy.

"Mom," I put my hand on hers. "What is it?"

She sighed. "It's not that I'm not happy for you, because I am..." She paused. "I just worry about you," She looked at me. "You both suffered a lot, I don't like seeing you get hurt."

I smiled at her. "T is good now, she overcame her depression, she seems ready to get back together again," I looked at her. "Don't you think?"

"I suppose," She sighed before looking away. "So does that mean you'll move out again?"

I smiled a bit more. "Are you worried about losing me here?"

She smiled a bit too. "You know I love having my baby girl near me," She looked at me. "I actually quite enjoyed our time together here."

"Me too," I nodded slowly. "Me too."

Talia's POV

The next day, I had the biggest smile on my face. It felt as if I had fallen in love all over again, as if we just got married again, as if we found each other again. This was the feeling I had been missing all this time and I was so happy to have it back.

I often wonder how much my emotions play a part in my teaching skills. I wonder if the students noticed a change. Either way, they behaved, that's all I asked for.

After school, I was humming while preparing my bag to go home. I was already thinking about the dinner date I had with Leah. I wondered what place I should take her to. Or should I prepare dinner myself? Maybe I could try that failed dinner date again.

"Well, someone's happy."

I turned around and saw my friends there, including Heather. She and I seemed to be fine again, however, she still didn't give me any reason as to why Leah wouldn't be good for me. I knew she had no feelings for me, she basically told me that, so I often wondered what the real reason could be.

They walked to me, closing the door in the process. "Any reason for that?"

I smiled, I couldn't contain it either way. "Leah and I are good again," I sighed happily. "I love her so much."

Charlotte and Mary smiled, Heather didn't seem to really care. "So the ride home went well yesterday?" Mary asked.

I nodded. "She seemed to really appreciate that gesture, she also invited me inside her house."

"And then what happened?" Charlotte winked.

"Nothing serious," I smiled at the memory. "We had dinner with her mom. It was a nice evening, it was great."

"That's amazing, Talia," Mary smiled at me. "We're happy for you."

"Absolutely," Charlotte agreed. "As I said before, you two are perfect for each other."

Then everyone looked at Heather, who hadn't spoken at all since entering my classroom. Heather seemed to get the hint and cleared her throat. "Yeah, it's good."

I slowly nodded even though I knew I shouldn't really believe what she was saying. "Thanks, all of you."

"So, any plans for today then?" Charlotte asked. "You must be humming for a reason."

I nodded, leaning against my desk. "I invited her for dinner. I do wonder if I should take her out or prepare dinner myself, what do you think?"

"I would love to go out," Charlotte said. "That way you can really spend time together because you don't have to worry about anything."

I slowly nodded.

"I would prefer to have my partner prepare dinner," Mary said. "That way you can have a moment alone, it's more romantic."

I nodded again. They both were making good points, and that wasn't helpful... I looked at Heather. "What do you think?"

She looked at me. "Everyone's different," She said, making me sigh as that was no real answer. "I don't know what Leah would prefer, why don't you simply ask her?"

Charlotte and Mary slowly nodded before looking at me. "You could do that too."

I nodded until we were all startled by a knock at the door of my classroom. I frowned as I didn't know who that could be: all my friends were here... "Uhm, come in."

The door opened and my mouth dropped. "Hey, baby."

"Leah," I walked to the door and closed it. "W-what a surprise..."

Her smile dropped a bit. "You don't seem happy to see me..."

I looked down. "I'm sorry," I looked at her. "I'm very happy to see you, I was just worried about other teachers seeing you."

She looked down. "I'm sorry, I didn't even think about that..."

I couldn't help but smile. She did put in an effort to come to me, I shouldn't let fear ruin her surprise. So, instead of having her leave for safety reasons, I wrapped my arms around her. "I'm really happy you're here." I then kissed her lips softly.

She smiled at me. "I thought I'd surprise you at work."

"I love this surprise," I kissed her again before releasing her. "I was just packing my bag," I said as I walked to my desk and taking my bag. "I'm ready to go now."

Leah looked at the classroom. She sighed. "Sometimes I miss this time," She walked to the seat she always sat at, she then sat down. "It was harder to hide our love but I did see you often."

I smiled at her. "I know."

She then looked at my friends. "Oh, hi." Somehow it seemed she didn't see them till now...

"Hi." They all said, except for Heather.

Leah looked back at me. "Shall we go?"

"Yes," I opened the door. "Follow me." We walked through the hallways, Leah stayed at a safe distance from me. Some teachers would recognize her, she'd make small talk with them and understood why I didn't wait around.

I waited in the parking lot, in my car. I knew Leah would find me here. I gulped as I still felt a bit nervous having Leah walk around school like that. Maybe I should talk to her about this later on? It's best to communicate, we agreed we'd do that.

Suddenly the car door opened, and in came Leah. "So, where are we going?" She asked as she smiled at me.

Restaurant or my house? I still wasn't sure what to choose. Why don't you simply ask her? I remember Heather say. I looked at Leah. "Do you want to have dinner at a restaurant or our house?"

She smiled. "Our house."

I nodded and started the car. I drove us home.
