Talia's POV

"It's unbelievable," The woman breathed out. She glanced back inside Jin's room before looking at me again. "He's really talking."

I couldn't help but smile. I was so proud of my wife. Here was a little boy who just needed someone to understand him, and Leah was that person.

The woman kept shaking her head. "How does she do that?"

I shrugged. "Like she said: she understands him."

"But how?" The woman glanced inside once more. We saw how Jin was smiling and seemingly having a big conversation with Leah. He seemed like a different child. Not at all the child she had been describing. "It's a miracle."

I raised my eyebrows. "I wouldn't go that far," I said, gaining her attention. "Sometimes there are people you just click with," I looked at Leah and smiled. "And your heart just opens up to them."

I could feel that woman look at me, probably wondering what I was thinking about right now.

I looked back at her. "So, about adoption..."

The woman straightened her posture, suddenly getting all serious again. "As I said, he's not fit for adoption."

I cleared my throat and motioned to Leah and Jin. "He needs my wife," I paused, giving her a chance to look at them. "Are you really going to take that away from him?"

The woman sighed, realization seemed to finally sink in.

"How does this work?" I asked, leading the conversation now. Seeing how Leah and Jin interacted, I wanted this adoption procedure to work. I wanted it to go through as fast as possible. "Can we fill out the papers now? We can take him home too, we have the stuff he needs already."

The woman looked at me. "Talia, it's not that easy..." She breathed out.

I frowned. "Whatever the problem is, I'm here to fix it," I then motioned her towards the office we came from. "Let's settle it right now."

The woman looked inside the room once more before nodding and walking to her office.

I looked at Leah and Jin. Leah seemed to feel my stare as she looked at me. I motioned to her I'd be away for a bit. She nodded and I left.

Leah's POV

I smiled at T before she left.

Jin had seemingly caught on as he too looked outside and saw T leave. He quickly looked at me. "You go?"

I smiled when I heard that. It warmed my heart to hear how he clearly didn't want me to leave. "No," I replied. "Don't worry."

He looked at the door again, as if making sure I wasn't going to leave, before looking at me again. His attention went to his toys.

I looked at one toy that caught my attention. "Do you like trains?" I asked as I picked up the little toy train.

He looked at my hand in which I held the toy train. He nodded. "Pway."

"You like to play with them?"

He nodded.

"I remember when I was younger," I started, sitting in a more comfortable position at the same time. "I often went by my grandparents. My grandpa had a collection of toy trains," I smiled at the memory. "I loved watching them move around the rails."

Jin looked at me. He seemed so interested in what I had to say. He gave me his full attention, as nothing else in the room mattered anymore. It was remarkable to get that kind of attention.
