147: Welcome Back Home!

Normal P.O.V

Gems opened his eyes and immediately shut them up as the sunlight got into his eyes. He had been asleep for so long now that the bright light was even more bright for him now.

‘Oww! My head hurts!’ Gems thought as he closed his eyes.

A smile crept on Gems's face when he felt a grip on his hand. Gems knew that touch. Gems wouldn't have to even think twice because he already knows that it was Gray. Gems squeezed Gray's hand back.

Gems immediately remembered the dream that he just saw. Gems's eyes shot open and his heart started racing faster. Gems looked around and on one side he saw Gray holding his hand while sleeping. And on the other side, Natsu and Happy were slumped on the sofa and were snoring.

Gems frowned as he looked around.

‘I am in a hospital?’ Gems thought while looking at the machines and that glucose that was being given to him. ‘How did I even survive?’ Gems thought while looking at the needle on his hand through which the glucose was passing.

Gems closed his eyes and tried to recall everything that had happened. But the last thing he could remember was that he casted a spell to protect Gray and giving up and going unconscious in Gray's arms.

And then that whole “void” thingy with Mavis where he could Gray's voice guiding him. ‘Where's master Mavis?’ Gems looked around in the room, it was morning but he couldn't see master Mavis.

‘Yeah right... I don't have the Fairy Tail guild mark anymore... Nor am I part of Fairy Tail so I won't be able to see her even if she was here...’ Gems sighed as he sat up.

Gems winced in pain while doing so. He didn't let go of Gray's hand.

‘But then again... What was that dream... If feels so weird...’ Gems thought rubbing his hand on his chest. ‘I thought Mavis was there to take me to the heavens... I didn't realize she actually came to rescue me...’ Gems thought as his eyes started to water.

Gems looked at Gray and how peacefully he was sleeping.

‘At least I was able to save him.’ Gems thought with a satisfied smile, tears almost bringing out of his eyes. Gems rubbed his hand on his throat as it was drying due to thirst.

He just looked around to find a glass of water on the side table. Gems couldn't stretch much or else Gray's sleep might get disturbed.

Gems tried reaching the glass, he was almost there, but his fingers just touched, but he still tried, but as soon as he grabbed the glass, it slipped and fell the floor, with it completely shattering creating a loud noise.

Everyone in the room immediately woke up due to the sound.

They all saw Gems and Gems saw them. Gray, Natsu and Happy were looking at Gems as if he was not Gems and was someone else. “I'm sorry! I didn't mean to ruin your sleep!” Gems got back to his position and apologized while scratching the back of head.

Their eyes widened and they gasped together.

“Gems!?” Natsu and Happy gasped at the same time. Gray's eyes started to water instantly, he looked down and saw that they were still holding hands. Gems just smiled and nodded in response.

Happy broke down into tears and ran towards Gems, tackling him in a hug. Gems smiled with shedding a couple of tears and hugged back Happy with one arm, whilst still holding Gray's hand.

Erza and Lucy had arrived to get Gray and Natsu free after their night duty. Their eyes widened with surprise too as they saw Gems.

“Gems!” Lucy squealed and ran towards Gems, wrapping her arms around him. “I missed you so much! Shopping without you was so boring!” Lucy cried as she tightly hugged Gems.
