Castiel took a small sip from his coffee cup and winced slightly at the crisp burn on the tip of his tongue. The world bustled around him as he found his solace in the seat across from his brother. Since he got the job at the university teaching Religion he rarely had time to meet with his brother. Castiel missed his brother's jokes and the conversations that came between them when they let themselves get into a vocal rhythm.

"So this new guy, what's he like?" Gabriel asked around a mouthful of lava cake.

Castiel rolled his eyes at the immature habit of his brother before shrugging. "He's a good person. He's very intelligent but very humble about it. When I first met him I thought that he was a bit rude, but when you get to know him better you find that he has a heart three sizes larger than most people."

"He's the Grinch?"

"I do not know who that is but I am guessing not." Castiel sent a confused scowl toward Gabriel because he knew he should probably be offended by that comment. "You may know him."

Gabriel's eyebrows shot up as he quickly swallowed the rest of the cake in his mouth. "Is he famous?"

"Kind of. He is an actor."

"What?!" Gabriel's voice boomed through the coffee shop creating a moment of silence before people went back to what they were doing.

Castiel flushed and dropped his eyes to his coffee. "He was shooting a film at the university I work at now. We ran into each other while he was on a break in the cafeteria. He was playing the role of a professor so he asked me for some tips as to my day to day life. Then he asked for my number."

"Jesus Christ. My little bro bagged a movie star? How have I not found out about this?" Gabriel was slouched back in his chair with an expression mixed between awe and confusion.

"We like to keep our relationship out of the media." Castiel cleared his throat before dropping the name that he knew would send his brother into a fit. "It's Dean Winchester."

"Dean Winchester!" Gabriel's voice squeaked in misbelief. "THE Dean Winchester who won two Academy Awards?!"

Castiel nodded, still not looking up to meet his brother's eyes. "Would you please keep your voice down?"

"Holy. Fucking. Shit." Gabriel was on the verge of hyperventilating. "I would think you were joking but I know your sense of humor isn't that good. Jesus Christ, Cassie. The man is gorgeous. And famous. And rich. And wait a second... isn't he straight?"

This time Castiel raised his eyes to meet his brother's. A sadness poured out of him making it hard to say what he wanted to say to his brother. "He is bisexual. He... his father had... been very against Dean being with men. From my best guess that is why he doesn't want to go public with what we are."

"Let me stop you right there." Gabriel's face suddenly turned pissed off. "No one, not even a fucking movie star, should be ashamed of you. If he really cared about you he would have announced it to the world from the get-go."

"It's compl-"

"If you say 'it's complicated' I will walk right out of this coffee shop." Gabriel leaned his upper body over the table and stared into his brother's eyes with a seriousness that made Castiel's heart stutter. "I could see the hurt in your eyes when you brought it up. I don't care if this man hung the moon, he shouldn't treat you like you are his dirty little secret."

Castiel let out a deep sigh in hopes that it would keep the tears at bay. "I don't know what to do, Gabe."

"You tell him how you feel." Gabriel sat back a little as his face turned from anger into sympathy. "And if he breaks your heart I will kill him a hundred times in a hundred different painful ways."
