Halloween mini prompt from anon: dean and cas catch thei angsty teen sneakin out to a Halloween party even though the teen is grounded.

'

"I don't know, Dean, maybe we should let her go." Castiel paced heavily across the tiles of their kitchen. He was wearing a hole in his bottom lip and trying desperately to erase the look of anger that had been spread across their teenage daughter's face when they told her she couldn't go to that Halloween party.

"Cas, she is grounded." Dean spoke firmly as he stood from the chair and pulled his husband flush against his chest. "We have to be strict, or she will walk all over us."

"I just hate being the bad guy." Cas let his head fall on Dean's chest and nuzzled his nose into the comforting warmth. "I remember when she was nothing more than a little bundle in my arms. Now she is talking back, and going out with bad kids, and-"

"She is just a teenager." Dean kissed the top of Cas' head. "From now on, I will be the bad guy. I'll handle all the punishments. I promise one day she will straighten out, and maybe even thank us for being strict."

"Okay."

Both men paused as they heard a door creak. It was slight, so slight they almost missed it. Dean unwound his arms from around Castiel's waist and stormed off in the direction of their living room. Castiel swallowed dryness as he knew what was going to happen. Before he was even able to take a step, he could hear Dean's thundering shout.

"MARY WINCHESTER!"

Castiel jumped at the harshness of the tone and quickly darted out to the living room to be with his family. Dean had his back to him, but Cas could see the tension in his back even under his shirt. His husband's hands were gripping tightly over his hips. Mary was standing with an angered pout in the doorway of their home. Her costume was that of a sexy nurse and Castiel thought he was going to have a heart attack.

"Where in the hell do you think you're going?" Dean snapped.

Mary shrugged and set her own hands on her hips to glare down her father defiantly. "Out."

"Out? You're grounded."

"Exactly why I was sneaking."

Dean paused as he took a couple level breaths. "Go to your room. Now."

Mary huffed but slammed the door behind her. She didn't make any move to do what she was told. "You can't keep me locked up in this dungeon forever."

"Dungeon? Your father and I have built nothing but a perfect life for you. We moved from the crowded city to the suburbs, with a school that is at the top in this state. We have bent over backwards making your life better. All you ever do is whine and complain. You are going to go up to your room and-"

"No."

That was it. Something snapped in Castiel. Usually he was reserved when it came to his daughter, never wanting to raise his voice. But the way she was glaring at Dean, made something inside of him so angry he just burst.

"If you aren't up in your room in the next minute I am hauling your ass to military school." The words spoken by Cas shocked everyone in the room.

Dean turned his head slightly and gazed up at his husband with wide eyes. Mary's anger melted and for the first time in months, Cas could see guilt in her eyes. Her head hung low and she started to shuffle toward the stairs. As she passed Castiel, he reached over and pulled her into a bear hug.

"I love you, Mary, and I would do anything for you. But you need to learn. Tomorrow you will come down in the morning and we will discuss the words you have spoken and the consequences that follow. Tonight, I want you to go upstairs and go to bed. It is late." Cas placed a short kiss on her head and the pushed her off toward the stairs.

"I love you, too, Dad. I'm sorry." Was all Mary muttered before she lightly padded up the stairs and disappeared.

When they heard her door shut, Dean turned fully and stared into Cas' eyes with respect and still a little shock. "Where'd that come from?"

Cas shrugged and felt a little guilt eating up his insides. "I don't know. I don't like being the bad guy."

"Aw, baby, you did what was right." Dean cut off the distance between them and kissed his husband chastely on the lips. "How about we settle in on the couch and watch some scary movies?"

"Okay."

"Then tomorrow we can print up some military school applications and scare the shit out of Mary."

Castiel groaned but let Dean lead him by the hand toward the living room. "You are wicked."

Dean shrugged and gave him a wink before pulling him into another kiss. "Maybe I am, but it's all for the best. In fact, I think if you snap more often Mary will be a bible thumper by the end of the month."
