Prompt from anon: Could you do a fic where Dean Is taking Cas to enjoy the "simple pleasures" like macaroni and sweets and his reactions?

'

“There is a carnival in town?” Dean asked as he scanned the back of the newspaper Sam was holding up. He took a small sip from his black coffee and tried to remember the last time they had done something for sheer pleasure but couldn’t come up with anything. Now that Cas was human, Dean made it his mission to let the poor guy experience everything that was good about being a person.

“Dean, no.” Sam rolled his eyes and shuffled through some of the pages before stopping at the obituaries to see if there was any unusual deaths in the area.

Dean snorted a little and flicked a piece of his bagel at Sam. “Cmon, the cotton candy, funnel cakes, deep fired everything… and the rides. It is just what Cas needs to feel human. Carnivals are so nostalgic and everyone has to go to one at least once in their life.”

Sam groaned and dropped the paper to the table as he stared at Dean with his lips pressed firmly together. “I am not going to a carnival.”

“What are you-“ Then Dean’s eyes widened and he grinned from ear to ear like an amused child. “Oh right, clowns.”

“Fuck you.” Sam glowered and dropped his eyes back to the print. “I am not going anywhere near there. Take Cas if you want, but leave me out of it. The place is a creep show.”

Dean rolled his eyes and took another long sip of coffee. “You are such a baby, Sammy.”

“Whatever. I’m not the one on this weird mission to make Cas experience everything under the sun.”

“Sammy, he was an angel for his entire life. After everything he did for us, and all he sacrificed, I just want to show him a good time. I want to know what he gave up heaven for. Is that so bad?” Dean felt his heart drop at the thought of just how much suffering Cas held under in his soul.

Sam smiled lightly at his brother with a small shake of his head. “No, I guess when you put it that way it isn’t bad at all. Have fun at the carnival.”

“Thanks. That is of course if Cas every wakes up so that we can go.” Dean snorted and rubbed the sleep from his eyes so that he could start another day of showing Cas all the wonderful things about humanity.

'

“Dean, can you please slow down before you kill us both.” Cas groaned as his fingers dug into the door of the impala and the world shot past him through the window.

Dean smirked but laid off the gas a little. “Sorry, Cas. I wasn’t paying attention.”

“Where are we going anyway? I wanted to watch some more movies with Sam today.”

Dean snorted with the roll of his eyes. “You cant spend life hiding away in the bunker and rotting your brains out with Sam’s stupid chick flick movies. We are going to have some fun the good old fashioned way.”

“Does this way involve food?” Cas’ voice was suddenly hopeful. His favorite part of being a human was the tastes that he could experience.

“You won’t believe the amount of food this involves. I promise you that you will love it.” Excitement almost caused Dean’s voice to squeak as he felt a knot in his stomach. This was the first time he had been to a carnival just for the fun of it since before he could remember. But as he stole a glance at Cas, and saw the same giddy smile, he knew that this was worth it. The way Castiel’s eyes widened and crinkled at the sides over the smallest things that he took advantage of, made Dean’s whole being seem to become content. Even with hell knocking on his door, the sight of Cas enjoying the simplest of things made Dean lighthearted.
