Prompt from anon: Artist!Castiel means up with Model!Dean?

'

Castiel glanced down at his sketchbook that was firmly grasped in his hands. The second day of college life had gone by in a blur. All his 100 classes were just wastes of time in his opinion. His whole life was wrapped up in this sketchbook and the promise of his art class. In a world where nightmares seemed hidden behind everyone’s faces, Castiel found his calm in drawing a better reality. Getting lost in his art was the only thing that was worth living for. Art was his entire world.

“Welcome to Figure Drawing, I will be your mentor Mrs. Harvelle. If any of you prove to be skilled enough, you can call me Ellen.” A few chuckles rang out in the class as Castiel looked up and saw his new teacher quickly flash a smile. “This semester we will be focusing on gaining a better understanding of the human body and how to truly capture it on paper.”

Castiel scanned the room of hearty artsy students. Most of them had colorful hair and hipster clothes. Cas wished he could fit in, but he was lamely dressed in a white button down with a blue tie. His hair was messy but only a natural chestnut brown. If anything, he thought he looked like he should be in the business part of the college.

“We will be joined with a handful of lovely models, a few of them are here today so that they can sit in and get a feel for this atmosphere.” Mrs. Harvelle directed their eyes to a handful of students sitting off to the side of the room.

Castiel looked up from his sketchbook and saw that there were two men and three women. All of them more gorgeous than the next. He had never drawn from a live model before, but it excited him. especially when his eyes fell upon one of the handsome models fiddling with his hands in his lap.

The model had strikingly breathtaking features. The jaw line was smooth and enticing. All Castiel could manage to think was letting his tongue lightly trail a line down the man’s contracting throat. Everything about the model was gorgeous, especially the flash of brilliant green that made Cas’ head spin.

“For today, we will be discussing….” Mrs. Harvelle drowned on as Castiel’s mind ventured to fantasies of this mysterious model and all the possible ways he could taste those plump lips.

Those green eyes hidden behind a mask of freckles looked up somewhere in the speech and met Cas’. For a moment, it was like the world had stopped spinning. The voices all faded and only a solid green could penetrate Cas’ mind. But it didn’t last, the model looked away and Cas was left with this sinking feeling. The fingers wrapped in the sketchbook tightened as Cas finally found something beautiful enough to capture in his artistic world.

'

“Castiel Novak?” Mrs. Harvelle’s voice interrupted Cas’ mindless doodles in his sketchbook. It had been a month since his first class, and he was soon a favorite of his professor’s… mostly from the sketches he did from the green eyed model.

Cas let his eyes peer up from his art work and he gave a warm smile. “Yes, Mrs. Harvelle?”

“You know you can call me Ellen.” Her warm eyes trailed down to settle on his newest piece. “I just wanted to let you know that I am going to keep the lab open tonight for you. I know you said that it is hard for you to find time and space to work.”

“Thank you.” Castiel felt a warmness wash over him as he let his fingers fall from his canvas. “I really appreciate that, Ellen.”

She nodded and gave him a warm pat on the shoulder. “Just lock up when you are done. I trust you.”

Castiel watched her turn and head off to inspect her other student’s projects. He let himself drift back into his calming world of oil pastel. In front of him was a set of roughly drawn eyes. It had been weeks and he was still trying to capture the sensation of those green eyes. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t draw them just right. There was no emotion behind them, emotion was something Castiel didn’t quite understand how to capture. He sat back on his stool and stared at the eyes for a few moments. Tonight he would get it right, even if he had to stay up all night.
