Jump. Fly. Soar. Building top to building top. That's all that the blonde could think as she swung around from roof to roof, hopping around above the city of the dead.
She had been in this city for who knows how long, and Molly was confident that she was the last and only survivor left in the city. Despite the small clusters of survivors that would power through from time to time scurrying towards the water or towards the railroad tracks, she had the city completely in the palm of her hand. She practically ran the walkers the way she used the bell towers to turn them away from her location. She still had so much of the city to explore, and with Hilda at her side, she felt as if she could do anything.
Slamming her spike into the side of a building as she scaled the outer wall, the blonde panted desperately before pulling herself into the roof of the small motel. "Ugh." She grunted. After catching her breath for several beats, she glanced back down into the alleyway at the walkers slowly limping their way through it. "Geeks." She snarled under her breath, before pushing herself onto her feet, sliding Hilda against her back and lifting her mask over her mouth. Finally, she felt prepared. She had been hearing odd sounds from inside this motel for weeks, and she could never figure out what it was that was causing it. Walkers trapped inside? Animals? Or was it survivors whom were sneaking in checking for supplies? For whatever the case, Molly was ready. Whatever was behind these doors, was about to meet a sharp spike in the forehead.
Sliding down the opposite wall of the building and landing against one of the balconies of a room, she slowly drew closer towards the door, gripping the door knob with determination before throwing the entrance open and aiming her gun in the darkened room.
"Ugh, hey! Can you back the hell off?" A voice snarled from the darkness.
Molly adjusted her mask that gently cupped her mouth and scowled, gripping her weapon tightly.
"Honestly, I mean no harm. I'm alone."
"Step out. So I can see you."
With a sigh of anger, a thin blonde figure stepped out of the shadows and held her palms up in front of the teen. Molly tilted her head and gave a small smirk, luckily hidden by her mask. "Put your weapons on the ground, then kick them to me."
The blonde grumbled, taking out her gun and pick and sliding them along the ground towards her. "There." She said softly.
Molly quickly pocketed the supplies and drew closer to the now unarmed female. "Now, what are you doing here alone? It's not normal."
"You could say that I'm not a normal person."
"Are you infected?"
"No."
Molly raised an eyebrow
"Check me for bites you won't find any!" She snarled back.
"What's your name?"
"Jane." Molly nodded, humming to herself as she wandered around the little apartment. There wasn't a threat now since she had taken her weapons of course, or at least she hoped.
"What the hell do you want from me? Can't you see I'm alone?"
Molly raised an eyebrow, kicking open one of the back doors of the little room before drawing closer to the girl yet again. "I guess you could just say I'm curious as to why you're alone. Almost everybody has a group."
"I could ask you the same question, blondie."
Molly scowled. "How about you just answer when I ask you things? Remember that I've got your damn gun."
Jane scoffed, crossing her arms and adjusting her stance on her feet. The clashing independent personalities lighting angry sparks in the air. "I work better when I'm alone. There's your answer."
"Really? Because to me it looks like there's a stranger in your base that's taken hostage of all of your weapons."
Jane scowled and glanced away, remaining silent.
Molly lowered Hilda and slid her back into her holder, crossing her arms and stancing her feet comfortably as she studied the blonde. Hm. Interesting. Yes she definitely seemed independant but why hadn't she started a fight yet? Normally people would attack her on the spot for taking her supplies.
Meanwhile, Jane studied the walls of the room before her eyes landed against the stranger across from her. Why the hell hadn't she attacked or killed her yet? Ever since she had run away from Clementine and the others she hadn't really had the heart to go after people. More or less kill them. Clementine had showed her more than that.
"Here." Molly slowly kicked her weapons back towards her, gripping Hilda as she started back for the door. "You don't have anything useful anyways."
Jane raise an eyebrow, grabbing her things and sliding them into her pockets before turning fully around. Should she be offended by the comment? "Wait." She demanded, a command rather than a request. She heavily debated what she was about to say. She didn't want to sound foolish. She didn't resent to be a mockery. "Why don't we stick together?"
Molly laughed. "I thought you said you worked better alone?"
It happened. She was a joke. The dirty-blonde haired woman scowled. "Don't we both?" Jane snapped, shutting Molly up for a brief moment. "Look," She sighed. "I've figured out recently that it's tough to get by alone. You kind of...need people." At least that's what Clementine had showed her. "To rely on. If and when you need it."
The first thought to flash through Molly's mind was Clementine watching as Lee jumped down into the sewer streets of the city, watching as Kenny had to comfort her and lead her away to safety. People really did need others. At least sometimes. Molly crossed her arms before giving a small nod. "You have a point."
Hearing grunts and thuds against the outer walls of the building, the two perked up.
"Damn." Molly groaned. "Geeks."
Jane raised and eyebrow. Odd term she had to admit, but she would roll with it for the time being. It was strange but in a way charming. "Should we take 'em?" She twirled her gun happily in her hands, allowing it to rest against her palm comfortably.
Molly smirked, gripping Hilda and nodding. "Let's kill these things."
Slowly, side by side, the two wandered out the door, weapons in hand as they started towards the small herd of walkers.
Little did they know that the reason they were drawn together was because of one little girl.
Their Clementine.
