Everyone was panicking. Stranded in a town, group members injured and missing, and a herd of walkers surrounding them at every angle.

"We're fucked." Javi's voice filled the tense air, hovering just above the grunts and groans of the swarm below.

"Thanks for the positivity." Clementine responded bitterly, crossing her arms and standing upright from where she had been looming over the building's edge. "I think we all know that."

The crew had fled to the roof of a nearby building, scaling a ladder to remove themselves from the immediate danger below. Now, they waited for a game plan.

"Thanks for the positivity." Javi quipped back, flashing a smirk.

"We don't have time for this cocky shit!" Kenny quickly snapped, ripping his hand away from where it had been scratching his beard to be thrown down in irritation at his side. "We need to come up with a plan."

There was a brief silence before, with arms crossed, Javi turned to Clementine once more. "What, no positivity thanking for him?"

Clementine snorted, but the response didn't seem to generate the same amount of joy from Kenny. "I'm serious." He spat back. "Christ, y'all don't make this easy."

"Kenny," Clementine warned hauntingly, arms firmly planted over her chest. It was strange how somehow a child was the only one who had any power over the male. "If we expect to get anything done, we need to get along." The child turned her body to face Javier. "So play nice."

Javi rolled his eyes, playfully shrugging his shoulders. If anything, he wanted to lighten the mood for the child. She was too young to need to worry about keeping the group in check. Her job was to be a kid. The fact that her caretaker was the more reckless one and required to be put in check by her spoke volumes.

"Well, let's start getting stuff done then, huh?" Kenny scoffed. "We won't accomplish anything by standin' here pickin' our asses."

"You also won't get anything done by going down there."

A sudden voice, sharp and clear, filled the surrounding air. While most of the group tensed, Clementine remained in her calm, arm-crossed state. Opposed to grabbing a weapon and throwing herself in a position ready to fight, she merely glanced around and searched for the voice's source. Then, before the rest of her group, she smirked.

"How do you know? Better view all the way up there?"

The group, turning to follow the direction of the child's voice, caught sight of exactly who she was speaking to. A man with long, dreaded, brown hair stood perched in a tree, leaning against the trunk and crossing his ankles on the branch he stood on. "You could say that."

Clementine, while smirking and enjoying her back-and-forth with the stranger, seemed to be the only one enjoying the communication. Upon hearing him speak, Kenny sauntered forwards and pushed Clementine behind him with a palm firmly planted on her shoulder. "Back up, Clementine."

"Kenny--!" Although spoken through a scoff, the child was ignored.

"Now," Kenny began, a hand settling against the pocket which held his gun. "How about you come down nice and slow and introduce yourself properly, huh?"

The stranger playfully rolled his eyes, plopping himself into a sitting position on his branch. "What, this isn't a proper introduction?"

"Not without telling us your name ya dumb ass."
