"Soooo Gabe," Javi's voice entered the air, causing the teen to turn and face his uncle with a quizzical gaze. "You got a girlfriend?"

The statement caused Gabe's eyes to widen, more so in surprise at what the male was asking rather than embarrassment. "What?" He paused, the smirk and wiggling of eyebrows before him causing the teen to press one side of his lips together. "Why do you ask?"

Javi wasn't the best at hiding if he had hidden intentions behind a question or statement, and so it wasn't a secret to either of them that that was exactly what he had in mind. "I'm curious, that's all."

Gabe pouted, his arms crossing over his chest defensively. Something in his tone, something lingering underneath, said more. "Seriously?"

"Yes!" He claimed, hands throwing themselves down to his sides. "I wanna know if there's a girl in your life, that's all buddy." Javi's eyes momentarily drifted past the young male's shoulder. Upon detecting this Gabe turned, instantly spotting his line of sight.

In mere seconds, he flipped back. "You think I'm dating Clementine?"

"Psh," Javi scoffed. "You could be dating any girl really."

Gabe's brows squished, and yet the colour gradually painting his cheeks still remained noticeable to them both. "We aren't dating."

"Okay okay," Javi claimed, hands raised in an act of self defence. "That doesn't answer if you want to be dating."

"Javi..." The boys whine was more than enough of an answer for them both. No matter what he did, no matter what he said, Gabe knew he couldn't hide anything from his uncle. Javi, while having his moments of sheer foolishness, was rather good at reading people, especially when it came to Gabe. After all, for years David hadn't been around to do so. Javi had gotten the hang of it in his absence.

"Say no more." The adult claimed, hands settling in contentment against his hips. Along with the stature of pride, he couldn't seem to wipe the growing smirk off of his face now knowing the thoughts the teen possessed. No matter how hard he tried, it continued to slip onto his features.

Gabe scoffed, elbowing his adult in the side. "Quit it!" He managed through a laugh, gradually turning his attention back to the direction the male was facing.

Clementine, after fixing the laces in her boots, stood upright and flashed a smile at Gabe, giving a gentle wave. At first, she didn't move, waiting for any slight response before departing to finish her daily tasks. After receiving a meek wave in response, Clem chuckled and started away, arms crossed in a kind of glee at the acknowledgement she had been given.

Meanwhile, Javi smirked throughout the entire exchange, internally squealing like a little girl. Finally Gabe was getting into the dating world. That was when it became the most fun to parent a kid, despite the fact that he wasn't truly the male's father.

Gabe, as if hearing the silent sounds of joy, turned and felt himself squint in cheeky disdain at his caretaker. "Stop it." He teased, dragging out the vowels with a faint scoff at the end. "That didn't mean anything."

"Yeah, to you."

Before the two could bicker any further, a sound across the park snagged the attention of them both, removing their gazes from one another and instead locating the source of such brash noise.
