They hadn't been in Ericson for that long, but it didn't take much for Javier and Luke to catch onto what was happening.

It had been a few weeks since Richmond was able to get a decent radio signal and could send out a call to any listeners. Luckily for Ericson, Tenn had been fiddling with the radio as a side project to kill time, and that meant Richmond's call for survivors garnered a response.

Hearing Clementine's voice made the call that much better for Javi.

Even better for her was discovering that they found Luke and brought him into Richmond, and that he and Javi were coming down to scope out Ericson as another potential base.

Thinking about their reunion made Clem tear up every time. However, as much as she loved their presence at Ericson — bringing a new type of mentor-ship to the school — things rapidly took a turn for the worst.

"Wait," Luke said, coughing, choking on his lunch. "You're dating?"

"With no supervision?" Javi added.

Clementine and Louis both cringed.

This wasn't going to end well.

"Yes?" Louis offered, brows sliding up.

"It's not that big of a deal," Clementine stated, arms crossed. She had abandoned eating her food a long time ago, finding that arguing with her two father figures was more pressing. "We've been dating for a couple months."

"Months?" Luke scoffed.

Violet, on the other end of the table, smirked as she ate.

"Months without supervision, dear God." Javi sighed, running his hand over his face and planting his elbows into the table. "Who knows what happened during that time."

Clementine raised an eyebrow. Louis wanted to die. "Nothing happened." She answered.

"We don't know that." Javi countered. He didn't sound angry per-say. Neither of them did. They seemed concerned. Overly so. Clementine would even say terrified.

Clementine rolled her eyes and stood. "I'm going inside."

"What?" Louis asked, whipping around. His eyes were wide and pleading, as if saying 'please don't leave me alone out here.'

Clem shrugged. "I'd rather not sit out here and be badgered."

"Excuse me?" Luke said daringly.

All Clementine did was shrug and roll her eyes once more. "When you guys are ready to have an actual conversation about this, I'll be inside." Then, without another word, she vanished in and closed the front doors behind her.

Sensing the odd tension hanging in the air, the remaining Ericson kids left the table bringing their half-eaten meals with them. Most of Ericson was busy doing chores, and had taken their lunch to eat as they worked. It was a lucky break for Louis as it meant not that not every kid needed to witness how terrified he was of Clementine's 'fathers.'

Once everyone was gone, Louis froze, completely terrified. He had no idea how he was to conduct a conversation with the two, especially considering that the past while they'd been implying that he was far beyond a subdued boyfriend.
