Seeing Penny

Dr Halestead was waiting when Truck 81 & Ambulance 61 arrived and they took Penny into a room where they checked her over and made sure her stats and oxygen levels stayed level

Sam and Steele arrived via Truck 81 they were waiting in the waiting room

"She'll be okay Sam" Steele said

"All she ate alongside breakfast was cheesy pasta" Sam said

The firefighters are told quietly and Casey said "You need to tell Sam and Steele, her husband and boss"

"Casey" Sam said "What's going on?"

"Penny Jones has food poising so bad they think it was sabotage by Spellman as he wasn't locked up when he first got to America" Casey said

They were lead to het and they saw her asleep and Steele said "Sam she's now asleep so her body can fight it"

Sam nodded and kissed his wife's sweaty forehead and they saw normally neat blonde hair that was normally whipped into a ponytail all a mess and down

The mask still on Penny's face and the iv still in her arm

Steele had to keep swatting Sam's has away from it so Penny could get the meds she needed

Ellie carried Jones and Sam and Steele saw the on the waiting room, Jones sprouting a sick bowl

Ellie checked her in and said "Hey Sir, Sam"

"Jones alright?" Sam asked

"She is complaining about butterflies in her stomach to as well as now feeling sick" Ellie said

San felt her forehead and said "She's sweating"

They saw Jones ask for be held by her dad so Sam picked her up and Ellie said "I can get her checked over for you if you want to stay with Penny"

"Mummy?" I wail

"And she's been calling for penny and you Sam" Ellie said

"Jones can you let Ellie take you to be checked over" Sam said

"But dadda" I said as I looked at him

"Not going anywhere, I'm with mummy" Sam said "wave grandad to come with?"

"Want you and mummy" I sniff

"And you can after you've been checked out Jones, Mum will be awake then okay" Sam quietly said pushing his worries away

I nodded and let Ellie hold me to I was passed to Steele who held me and we saw a Dr walk towards us saying my birth name and I covered my ears at it

"It's just Jones" Steele said as they followed her in

"Yep just Jones" Ellie said as I was sat down

And she apologised and Steele sat me on his lap and she said "What seems to be the problem"

"She's got apparently butterflies in her stomach and now feels sick" Ellie said "But her mum is in the hospital"

"Dr Manning, also known as Dr Natalie Manning" She said "your names?"

"Ellie Phillips" Ellie said

"Station officer Steele" Steele said "This is jones by granddaughter so I will refuse the treatment if you hurt her"

She nodded and said "Jones can I just check your stomach?"

I stayed back to her so Steele whispered to me "Can you let her check you out, I promise you can see mum if you let her"

"And dad?" I ask

"Yep" he said as he turned me around and she felt my stomach and Ellie carefully but quickly explained Dr Manning about my past

She nodded and understood throughly as she checked my temperature after she checked my stomach

"What's her temperature?" Steele asked

"37" Dr Manning said "So it's not a huge alarm"

Ellie told her Jones had ate some chicken nuggets but not all of them

"Seems alright" she said as she looked at me "but she does look I'll sue to her face colour and how she's just been sick"

I hug my grandad and the nurse said "You said her mum is in the hospital didn't you?" she said

Ellie nodded and said "Yes her mum is Penny Jones"

"I think let's see if she still feels I'll when she sees her mum" Dr manning said as we walked to penny's room

Penny was awake and she was talking to Sam when Steele, Ellie, Jones and Dr Manning walked in

"So here's the room you three want" She said

I look at my mum and said "Mummy" and I reach my arms out

Steele passed me to penny and I curl up into her as she wraps an arm around me and pulls me close

"She has been sick just to let you know and does she look I'll, her face has gone slightly white"

Sam stood outside to thank the doctor and Steele said her face has gone back to the normal colour

"Told you she just need penny" Ellie said

Sam walked back in and said "hello you" to both me and penny and he kissed penny and he saw a hand wave at him and he squeezed it before the hand was recoiled back

"Jones is alright, she wanted Penny and now she's tired" Ellie said

Penny coaxed me to sleep and I fell asleep snuggled into her

Penny soon fell asleep head on Jones's head

The other adults watched them as they slept and Steele and Sam listened to what Ellie had to say about the tour she and Jones had of Firehouse 51

"Can't wait to print the photo of her and Casey" Sam said as he looked at it again

"Jones was super glad when it was took, seems she's got an idol" Ellie teased

"No Jones's idol will always be Sam" Steele said "She idols him"
